Oh this weekend has been a blast!!!
Friday night my daughter had a bowling party to attend... Of course, I wouldn't leave her there with only 1 adult monitoring the group... The hostess declined any assistance... So another parent and I got a lane for the little ones we had in tow... We were right next to a group of college boys who take their bowling quite seriously... The other mother refused to bowl stating that she is no good at it... I personally have had bowling lessons as a child and won trophies... So I waltz up to give it my all and of course miss every single pin even with the bumpers up for the kiddos... Then I do a little dance, because I can... Now with all seriousness I grab the ball and go for the strike... I know how to redeem myself in that situation... With the ball in both hands I walk all the way to the line on the lane, turn around, bend over, look between my legs, and roll the ball with all my might... WOOHOO A SPARE!!! Backwards granny shots are the only way to go!!!
Saturday I had to work and the kids were at the grandparents... Peace and quiet was nice for a bit... Working was not as rough as I thought it would be given the call volume with Valentine's Day quickly approaching...
Today when the kids came home, we decided to have some more fun... We went to the nearest nature park and skipped along the trails... We watched the birds and looked for signs of other animals... The kids really enjoyed the hands on learning in the center's main building... I thouroughly enjoyed just being outdoors... The youngest got bonus points for deciding he wants to go back to the nature park for his birthday instead of Chuck E Cheese's!!! After leaving the nature park, we decided to go to the lake and pick up trash... We were excited to see very little litter scattered around!!! So we skipped and danced all around and chased each other...
Toys R Us isn't the only place a kid can be a kid... I can be a kid anywhere I go!!! I just needed this weekend to remind me of that!!!
