I just read an article about 21 schools closing to be thouroughly cleaned due to a student dying from MRSA and the increased rate of which it is spreading throughout schools... This is very frightening, but a fact of life.
Recently I read about germs on cellphones... Staph being the number 1 germ on cellphones was the result of the study conducted. Just a tip, use Clorox wipes on your phones frequently!!!
MRSA is Methicillan-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. I know all too much about MRSA. Just about everyone in my family has had it. We worry most about my diabetic father, who was the first to have it. This bacteria is resistant to certain antibiotics such as methicillan, penicillan, amoxicillan, and oxacillan (just to name a few). It us usually seen in hospitals and nursing facilities. Now it has made it's way out into the community. The CDC refers to it as Community Associated MRSA (CA-MRSA).
The infection in Community Associated cases, normally presents itself as a skin infection. It can look like a pimple, boil, be red and swolen, have puss, or drainage. In the cases I have personally seen on my family members (mother, father, spouse, daughter, and family friend), it starts out looking like any normal skin injury, becomes extremely red swolen and painful quickly, and as gross as it sounds if you try to drain it, you feel that it is deep under the skin. I know immediately that if I attempt to drain the lesion, it takes both hands to get underneath it to push the pus out, and once you take one hand off to get something to wipe the puss away with, the pus itself disappears back into the "hole" and you are left looking at an empty crater in the skin...
I am no medical professional, nor do I claim to be... I am just sharing my personal experience with it. It has helped extended family members convince their friends and relatives to go to the doctor immediately when they hear about the disappearing puss...
I hope this is of help to someone, as well as a reminder to keep up with personal hygiene (even though I think some cases have nothing to do with hygiene)... Anyways, here is the link to the CDC for more information from a reputable source...

Scary!!!
They say that the bacteria is gotten mainly at hospitals. From open surgeries. They say at home to wipe things down well and to wash your hands constantly.
I'm trying to get my son not to share foods too, or drinks. He doesn't drink soda so he won't be sharing that. He only drinks water, one of those things that most children don't like to drink anyway. He only shares his snacks. I give him several so that he can give his best friend something at lunch too. I hope he is washing his hands more often.
the reason the antibiotics do not work with many is because our meats are so pumpe with antibiotics already our boys loose the good they can do. Meat with out this is avalible an Marked it is higher but I eat less meat so it works out.working in Heath food for many years I warne of things as this.
