Well, all I can say is the little guy is up to his normal daily antics... He enjoyed going to visit his doctor today. The allergic reaction of hives to his antibiotic cleared up. The knot or goose egg behind his ear is normal in color now and appears to be going down slowly.
As for the spots on his body, which look like baby acne, they are multiplying slowly... There aren't very many of them and they start out looking like baby acne, then tiny blisters, and once he scratches them, they look like bug bites. Thankfully, he isn't bothered much by them.
The doctor is scratching his head and has compared them to everything he can find. Conclusion one is that whatever it is-it's viral, based on the characteristics of the spots... Conclusion two is the only thing close to this is Chicken Pox, but only in one stage of the little spot's life... The third conclusion is that the goose egg is going down without antibiotics, so it too must be viral...
So the official diagnosis is that he has a mystery viral condition... Don't we all LOVE a good mystery?!?!? We just have to watch and wait...
I checked in with his twice a week preschool and so far no one else has anything... He doesn't have school for the rest of the week, but they will let his classmate's parents know about this just in case... I don't like having to spread the word, but I'd want to know if someone had head lice or something rather than have to figure that out on my own... Suprises like sickness spread from classmates are not my idea of fun...
Now mommy needs a nap desperately, but of course a mother's job is never done... My daughter now has a sinus infection and rather than coughing up the drainage, she's vomiting...
I'll be around when I can find a few minutes to feed my Gather addiction... Thank you all for your kind words and well wishes!!! I am sure that mystery man, sinus girl, and zombie mommy will all be back to normal soon!!!

My oldest son had a mystery infection, when he was about 10 months old. It started out with one of the children's soars...which we had no idea where he'd gotten it from, as he had no contact with other kids. Well, the doctor prescribed antibiotics, and all of a sudden my son was breaking out in a rash. It started slowly, but then it spread, he was itching, and his skin started swelling. It was terrible, he then got a different antibiotic, and I think some antihistamine...and the swelling started to subside and the rash began to disappear after a few days.....as well as his skin. He seriously started loosing his skin, and getting new skin.... It was so strange...yet another mystery.
He's happy for now and if it gets worse, I guess we'll be eating a lot of ice cream and popsicles...
Yes parenting is a most wild adventure!!!
