Jodie ~ I don't know if I have one favorite president. I like to learn as much as I can about them all. I think Lincoln was a great president. I buy a lot of his books because Richard is a huge fan. I swear that boy has at least 15 books about him and the Civil War. I also wonder what JFK could have accomplished because I feel that he had a huge impact for the short time he was in office.
My vote if for Obama this year. I agree with him on many issues and I feel that he will have an ability to bring us together more as a country rather than dividing us even more.

David ~ I am actually watching the History Channel and they are discussing your favorite president right now. I think that my brother and you should talk because I think you guys would have great conversations about Lincoln. He is a huge fan.

Janet ~ FDR did many great things. I think both Roosevelts did great things.
Millard Filmore. I love the Millard Filmore on a rope soap. I wish I had one for each president.

Roosevelt, the second one, not the first who got the US involved in the Spanish war and led to the US colonizing my country. Oh, well. All things work for the good, I think.

Clinton. Sorry but I really liked him, cigar and all. ;-)

Bobby Kennedy (in my mind, anyway). Hillary or Barack. Hillary and Barack.

Anyone with any kind of historical perspective, regardless of the degree of ideological agreement, will say that at least in terms of impact that Ronald Reagan had was impacting, making him the favorite to many.

Why? He changed the "null hypothesis" of political discourse away from the "government can solve all problems" mindset, and (yes he did) played a/the critical role in ending the Cold War.

Lincoln, we have never had a President quite like him. He was bigger than life, bigger than all of us -- one of the few who actually deserved the office. After that it would be a toss up between Jefferson and Teddy Roosevelt, then FDR. We of course don't think of Washington as a President -- we think of him as the symbolic person, the necessary person. Washington's most Presidential moment was when he refused to run for more than two terms.
I'm with Maya...It's Clinton for me!

I had more money and prosperity during his administrations than at any other time!

Abe is my favorite, but Andrew Johnson gets a bad rap. You hear about the impeachment. He was impeached because he fought to save the system of checks and balances between the three branches of government and preserve the constitution. And what thanks does he get?

Bill Clinton. Fought very hard for the minimum wage hike while GOP claimed it would destroy our economy, opposite happened. Family Leave Act. Not too many know he made it easier to adopt kids. When wife and I adopted a baby, we barely squeezed by the requirements, Huge income, age requirements. Now anyone without a criminal record can adopt. Thanks Bill. Hey pro lifers, here is your chance to put your money where your mouth is. I LOVE the boy, now a man, we adopted, thank you lord.

President Ford because I met him once. We were eating at In n Out by palm springs and he and his wife were there. we went up and talked to him. he was pleasant, but his wife not so much. the secret service was all over us. this was about 3 years ago.
