CNN.com is reporting that martial arts actor and self-caricature Chuck Norris has publicly declared that he is backing Republican ex-Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee in the 2008 Presidential race. In his statement, Norris acknowledges the qualifications each of the other conservative candidates bring to the table, but indicated that Huckabee is a " respected and fearless leader." He continued: "He's the kind of leader who can be attacked by several bad guys simultaneously and escape with a single roundhouse kick to all their heads." Norris concluded his statement with a "thumbs up".
OK, so I made up that last part about the roundhouse kicks and the thumbs up (although I'm sure he stopped several times while writing his statement and gave himself a quick "thumbs up"), but the rest of it is totally true. Let me say it again:
CNN has reported that Chuck Norris is backing ex-Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee for President in 2008.
Maybe its just me, but I think this is hilarious on so many levels. Why is CNN reporting this - and indicating it on their homepage? Why does Walker, Texas Ranger feel the need to take a break from commercial cameos, Total Gym responsibilities, and European workout videos to let the world know who's hanging chad he'll be punching?
And I just like saying "Huckabee". Try it - Huckabee, Huckabee, Huckabee... Say it 5 times fast. You can't do it without smiling. Good times.

All this time, I thought the Chuck Norris facts were just some strange internet thing. Turns out they might be true?
