This is a repost....
Living with an animal of another species can be one of the great joys of life.....
The down side of pet owning: an animal takes time and attention and money.
I have thought of some questions you should ask yourself before you get or adopt a pet.
1. Are you willing to care for the animal throughout its lifetime?
2. Will you give your pet love and attention when it needs you, and not just at your convenience?
3. Can you afford to cost of food, grooming and regular veterinary care, including yearly shots and checkups?
4. Will you see that your pet gets regular, daily exercise?
5. If your pet is a dog, are you prepared to potty train your pet and to train it in basic obedience?
It really upsets me when people get pets and they no longer want them because the cute puppy has worn off, and I am writing this because I live in the country and people all the time are dropping off dogs at the end of my drive way, And I am a true animal lover, and have adopted many of these animals that no one wanted, but I now have enough....Please consider these things before you adopt a pet.
Here are some pictures of my dearly loved pets...

Shecarra was dumped and pregnant, and she has been here 13 years...she lives outside, and protects our farm and is one great dog...

This is Miss Possom, she was found wet dirty, in a box and left for dead, we thought she was a possom So there is the name, bottle fed her and she has been here 3 years....

Miss Beezley was my uncles dog that died and no one wanted her...she lives with us now and is one happy go lucky dog...

Spat was dropped at the end of the lane as well, looked as it she had just had kittens, she is a loner and stays in the house....

These are pictures of Thomas Jefferson (TJ) who recently passed away August 13th, 2008, he was born to a feral cat that lives in the barn, he was 10 years old when he passed..

My dogs that I brought with me from Mississippi a year ago, they are natural brothers, I enjoy them, and they have a good time out here on the farm...

This is Baby Harley, he was also born to a feral cat in the barn last October, He and his sister were left for dead in a snow storm....I brought both in the sister died, and I continued to bottle feed Baby Harley and he is happy inside or out.

This is Bobbie, I brought him home from work, I tried to find the loving parents to this wounderful cat, His name is Bobbie because he has an unnatrual bobbed tail....he also is happy inside or out....

And there is Tommy, he was a gift from my mother in law that passed, and when I first got him I was thinking I already have 2 dogs, why would she give me another...Tommy is my heart and best friend...one great dog, he listens and he stays in the house, but truly loves to play with the other dogs, and swim in the pond, so he has turned into a farm dog...
Hope you enjoyed the Rights of Animals....They are people too....
