Under the Midnight sky in a little mountain nook;
sits a home cozy and warm.
Inside children are sleeping snug in their beds;
Dreaming of wonderous things.
Outside a cold white moon illuminates the ground
casting shadows of cedar trees
A coyote howl is answered by the hoot of an owl
A racoon's eyes gleam greenly,
as it steals toward the hen house;
brought up short by the low growl of the watch dog.
A myriad of twinkling stars hang from the midnight sky
a small deer herd graze in a meadow
A breeze whips trees that have lost autumn leaves
Snowflakse softly fall to the earth
Winter has arrived in the mountains
