Lisa I love loons had this ideas for an article list and so taking it from her to post my own list
The following are things that I have had in my lifetime that I feel were brushes with death.
When I was 5 I had Rhematic Fever and lost six months of my life from memory in 1953, My mom said I almost died and was very weak for months
When I was 6.5 I remember being hot and having intense pain in my side and then when I remembered again I had moved. Mom told me I had "Brights Disease of the Kidneys I have kidney problems off and on ever since but she said I had a weak immune system from the previous year having Rhematic Fever. I lost time and there are gaps in my memory from these two close togather childhood illnesses. 1955
When I was almost eight I was bit by a poisnous spider. I was sick for three weeks, chills, fever and vomiting. The doctor said If I had not got in on time I might have died. I was in the hospital for a week and then home but mom had to give me some sort of medication and check my temperature and things and get me in If I got worse. To this day I hate ALL spiders. 1957
When I was seventeen My oldest brother closed the trap door to the sawdust bin in the barn where I was shoveling sawdust down for animal bedding. He did it thinking it was funny and ran off. The sawdust was slippery and I started sliding down into the hole. I could not get a hand on the rafter above to keep from falling in and having Sawdust cover me and bury me. My younger brother said he was playing his quitar and he had a funny feeling I was in danger. He knew I was in the barn doing chores. He saw our brother sneaking in and smirking and knew he had done something. He threw his quitar down and literally leaped off a six foot bank and over three fences and up the loft ladder and the sawdust bin ladder and as the sawdust covered my head and I felt it choking me My little brother age 13 grabbed my hand and literally yanked me from suffocation and death. Then he beat the crap out of my other brother. After which my dad took a belt to him as well for being stupid and nearly killing me. 1967
In 1987 I had a really deep bad chronic cough that was getting worse and saw the doctor. He gave me Erhythomyacin. I took as prescribed and it was helping the cough. However I woke in the middle of the night with chest pains and ended up in the hospital with allergic reaction that was causing heart problems. That was on July 4th. Sort of ruined our holiday plans. A couple weeks later two other people went in with similar symptoms after taking Erythomyacin and they determined it was a bad batch. Don't know what was in it but it put me in cardiac arrest. I was 38.
I might have had some others but don't remember them. These are the ones that stand out.

When I was about seven or eight years old I was sitting on the lower deck at the cottage eating a cheese burger Dad had BBQed for me. A bee hand landed on the bun, and I did not see it. It stung me under the tongue. I screamed, and Mom rushed me to the hospital.
