We were foster parents, when they brought us this darling little boy,
Jimmy, 4 years old. The social worker said, "This is the last place, I
could take him." She did not explain, and tell us all of his problems.
Next day, we found out, he had tried to rape a 18 month girl! Well,
he was trying to rape her. Her mother came into the room, to find her
on the floor, with her diaper off, and Jimmy on top of her. He's the
youngest RAPIST in the state. So foster parents with young girls could
not take him.
His vocabulary was almost all curse words. SOB, the B word, and the
F word. At everyone and everything, even the dog and cat. So, we had to
work on his words! I would stamp my foot and say a new word, like buzzer
and he would try it. And naked jaybird, our teenagers acted like this was
a big fuzzy word. We told him, " he was a good boy, and good boys don't
say fuzzy words, anymore. We worked continueously for 3 weeks, before
we took him with us to the store. He was doing real well, and we
believed we had it made. All at once, he wanted a big pineapple. " Mama,
I want that", each time getting louder. I said, " Please use your soft
voice," I whispered. "MAMA, I WANT THAT. NO, MAMA, YOU B---H!
I TOLD YOU, I WANT THAT" he screamed.
That was a shock. I put my hands on the shopping cart, when a hand
grabbed my arm. This woman had come up behind me, and in a loud voice,
said, " It's people like you, raising children, is what's wrong with this
world."
I tried to get away from her. The other children were looking, and
listening, what could I say. "He isn't mine?" He had been calling me,
Mama. I turned to the lady and said, "You better believe it. Have a
nice day."
But she was hot after us, " I hope the law takes those children away
from you."
That's when one of the older girls told her. "You don't know us,
some of us are foster kids, and this mama is doing her best to help us.
So, just pray for us. It will help us and you." She turned and left.
We had to talk about this situation. I explained that the older lady,
was trying to help the children. She just did not want children to be
allowed to talk that way. That was a very bad behaviour pattern.
The next time, no bad words, he threw himself on the floor and threw
a real temper tantrum, screaming and kicking. I picked him up, put him
in the shopping cart. Told the older children to please come to the car.
Jimmy and I stayed in the car, the older children did the shopping and
came out to the car.
When we got home, I put Jimmy, in the corner. He just fell to the
floor and had a real temper tantrum. We threw ice water on him.
Now he was mad, and tried biting, all he could get to. I held him
until he stopped biting. He would bite so hard , the blood would
come out. Now he was put to bed. We got him up for dinner, and
back to bed. We told him, " No one wants to be around boys that
did these things. Do you want us to bite you? "
"Oh, no," he said.
Well, 3 days later, he was on the floor again, kicking and screaming.
We were ready for him. We patted our hands, and stomped our feet,
telling him , " louder, louder." He never tried that again.
We worked hard to make a good boy out of him, and it paid off. We
gave a lot of hugs, and he learned to give them back. He had such a
sweet laugh. He just needed a lot of love and training.

I hope he is getting some additional help re: his behavior with the 18 month old baby. That needs to be addressed ASAP!
