Many people make the move from urban to rural and I appreciate hearing from you so much. I hear from many who are just thinking about making the move and others who have done I it for years.
I learn a lot from all of you.
One thing I think of when people let me know they are moving is if your moving to an undeveloped piece of land, there are at least three things you must be sure to have:
1. Grocery supplies for 6 months to a year until you can get started and established some.
2. Hand tools, all you can accumulate.
3. All the junk you can haul. A lot of folks give most of their stuff away in making the move and find they could have used it or traded it for something they could have used.
Some great books and a website or two to check out are as follows:
How To Find Your Ideal Country Home: A Comprehensive Guide by Gene GeRue(This is a well researched book for perspective buyers of rural property. It has many maps, weather maps, sociology maps, pollution maps, etc.
www.ruralize.com
How to Buy Land Cheap, by Edward Preston

How to Quit the Rat Race Successfully by John F. Edwards is a basic master guide to the decision making and process involved in relocating to rural land.
Until next time,
