Colombia University  lately has ben in the news a lot. First they let that evil man on campus to talk to the students I don't care freedom of speech doesn't apply to eveil people he's responsible for so many deaths. Then last week they was a noose on an African American professors door. By the way shes female! Then later on last week the was a swastika  in mens bathroom with an anti-semitac comment.What did the African Americans do to you to deserve this? What did the Jews do to you to deserve this? How would you like it if what you're doing was done to you? Think before you act. What goung on over there? I mean it seems that the college is going down. It used to be one of the top collegeds now I find my opinion of it lowered a great deal. It's becomeing the kind of college American are embarassed to knowing about that's my opinion. Is there a new lets show hatred to minority thing going on? If ther is please stop it's really not nice.

Columbia was once a wonderful university, but with their liberalism and free thinking ideals come free thinkers. Selfish thinkers who are not concerned with what is right but what makes headlines.
Haters come in all shapes and colors, but this University is a magnet school for stupidity. When something is wrong, such as having an evil man speak, don't do it.
College age drinking has a lot to do with it, too. I teach in college and I can't tell you the crazies I meet. Throw the bums out.

I had heard of what's his face talking there, however I had not heard of the noose and swatiska's. You pay all this money for you kids to go all the way to school and this is what they do with thier free time? Quite productive! No wonder they charge top dollar!

I don't know who the evil man is . I don't understand why anyone would really care about the color, race, or religion of anyone. What difference does it make if someone else's skin is a different color? We are here and none of us are just going to go away, just because someone else can't handle it. We all have good reasons for being here. One being that we were placed here in all kinds of situations in order to learn how to get along with others. Just my thoughts on the matter.

It's a sad trend like everyone said. Someone recently wrote an anti-african american slurr one one of my campus' buildings. They sand blasted it off, but they wrote an article about it in our paper, thats how i found out about it

I truly agree that the evil man should have never been allowed to speak!!!
As for hate crimes, people hate because they are uneducated and fearful of someone different. It is stupid!!! All I can say is that it is truly a sad state of affairs that people haven't learned from the past and continue this hatred!!!

The whole thing goes back to this horrible "nationalism" thing that is happening right now... Many people are making the Mexicans scapegoats for what the corporations have done to destroy our economy... America was supposed to be a place where all nationalities, creeds, colors and races of people could come and have a chance to better themselves but, anymore, it seems like more and more people here in the U.S. want to close America off to newcomers... It smacks of Hitler's efforts to keep "the Aryan race pure" and, I agree with you, it is quite frightening...

Jean I wouldn't take it that far but the truth is all the newcomers who come don't want to adapt to the American life what I mean by that is speak the language apply for your citizenship. Do you realize the unemployed people in the US is a great number yet people will hire Mexicans becuase they pay them off the books and in cash while Americans are desperate for money to put food on the table

First, I think the President of Columbia was way out of line with his hate speech. They should never have invited Amadenajhad (sp) to speak in the first place. But, since they did, they should have let him speak and the President should have kept his mouth shut. Talk about hate speech. He spewed enough to last a few years at Columbia.

Now, as far as the Black female professor....she didn't do a thing to deserve a noose hung over her door or anywhere on that campus or any where in this County. I live in the South but I realize the Civil War ended over a 140 years ago and whether or not the white supremacist realize it or not, the South is Never going to rise again. We are a United States. Start acting like one.

I think a lot of these kids follow the wolf pack mentality. They do these things to make themselves looks good in the eyes of the fellow idiots they hang around with or just because they think they're cool and funny. It's a shame,but there are a lot of parents who have brought up their kids to think they can do whatever they want without any remorse or guilt.
