Imagine a world leader today, from the country which gave birth to Lincoln, coming close to saying anything like that. We would have peace... eventually. Children would not be dying by the 10's of thousands a day of starvation and needless illness, eventually. Humanity could come to a place of far less suffering, eventually. There will always be pain and hurt and imperfection in the world. But we would have enough peace to understand the difference between a temporary world that comes with its baggage... and suffering - identifying ourselves with that.
