Love baseball,, I go to AZ every other spring to see some team there and visit nephew and brother in law,,,, love it during the spet and oct months win the penet race builds up.

I would LOVE to go to Daytona! I have been there but never when the races are there. Also want to go to the INDY 500 altho it has not changed so much from what it used to be I might choose the Kentucky Derby instead.
Corinn - I take it Central City NE is in Nebraska? Not too close to anyone is it? I'd take some time (if I were you) and go to CHI - take in the Cubbies this year and the city is one of the BEST!

Used to love baseball as a kid, played on all stars in Little League, loved the Mets.Then when they had that last strike I just gave up on the sport. Used to love the NBA too but when you grew up starting with Dr.J and Wilt and watching Bird, Magic, and Jordan, it just ain't the same, if you know what I mean. John B - you are so right! The NFL has become a great fan sport due to TV coverage and the speed of the game. I am sorry that the strike drove you away from baseball because I can't deprive myself of watching the game just because the players were greedy during the strike.
Players are greedy in ALL sports - the NBA may be the WORST of them all in that regard.
I heard Senator Bill Bradley interviewed recently by Bob Costas and it was memorable. Costas asked Bradley what he meant when he said he did not watch as much of the NBA as he used to because "the game has changed a lot." Bradley replied - "oh, you know, they don't call steps anymore, no one plays defense, their is no emphasis on team play, but other than those things, it's the same game."
I loved it! THAT is why I don't watch NBA games anymore. I do love college basketball, though.
Teresa - I like horse racing too. It's so colorful and exciting, but I can't go without betting. Sort of like being in bed with a woman that takes all her clothes off but just wants you to look at her...
That's great Tom. Bradley hit it right on the head,didn't he. And how many guys can consistently even hit an open jump shot these days? I love the NCAA Hoop Tournament, my next favorite thing next to football. And I have to say Teresa, I'm with ya on that horse betting thing too.
My favorite sport that I play is basketball. I watch and play a little soccer and football. I also play ping-pong and am rather good at it. Basketball is my #1 sport though.
I used to be a LA Dodgers Baseball fan when I was a kid. I went to like 3-4 games I think. But, I just can't get into baseball now.
We watch a lot of NFL and NCAA football now. My favorite team is the Green Bay Packers. My goal is to be able to go to a game in Green Bay sometime in the next few years, hopefully before Brett retires.
Michael basketball used to be my favorite sport to play when I was younger and I played a LOT. But as a fan it's always been baseball - the NFL has pulled me in in recent years I have to admit! Thanks.
As a typical Saint Louisan I live and breathe baseball. Go Cards! I also follow the Saint Louis Rams but not as closely. I love watching the Wimbleton and NASCAR.
College Football is what I wait for. The only Pro sport I watch is the NFL.
I disagree with you Tom. MLB players are the most overrated and, by far, the most overpaid athletes of all the sports. It's been a long time since I've sat down with the intention of watching a MLB game.
On the other hand, I will sit and watch a college game anytime. Football, basketball or baseball. They're not just going through the motions.

I'm not going to get into a debate about who is higher paid. ALL pro athletes make way too much money. They're overpaid and out of control. The only Sport who seems to have any contro; over their athletes is the NFL. Case in point, Michael Vick. When Vick got indicted, the commissioner said Stay Home. Don't come to work. Period. No debate. No Appeal. You may never see Vick in a uniform again. Hats off to the NFL.
Larry - good thing we are not going to debate this topic as you do not understand it at all. The NFL now pays first round choices WHO HAVE NEVER PLAYED A PROFESSIONAL DOWN IN A GAME millions of dollars and a percentage of them never make it! That's fiscal responsibility? Control?

We are a pretty sportsy family. I played basketball since 4th grade to sophmore.. then I got prego and quit sports.. not school though.. My husband played football and baseball and soccer.
Our daughter is 7 and has played tball and is now in softball. Played soccer for a season... and is fixing to be enrolled in dance. My 2 1/2 year old loves t ball. He is dang good too! I will have to get a video of him playing! He also like to play "football" He attacks his spiderman punching bag as if he is playing football and he puts on his life jacket cause he thinks its like the football pads. My 15 month old walks around throwing baseballs footballs basketballs soccer ball and softballs all around all day! He has a good arm!
