Adult Ed Student Tries To Set Teacher On Fire

In Ferndale, MI, (hanging my head in shame for living in MI), an adult ed student tried to set his teacher on fire.  They were studying The Crucible and decided is teacher was teaching blasphemy.  You can get the whole story here...

I will say it...Jesus! Born Again Christians are a group of brainwashed whack jobs! I know a lot on this subject, not just opining... That poor teacher! The kid obviously was taught that witchcraft is the work of the Devil and therefore demonic, and if teacher was recommending it, well then he/she must be evil, too.
Hope that kid gets life without parole.

This is an ADULT not a kid. She didn't say she was a witch. They were studying The Crucible.

Sounds like a person with some type of mental illness that is able to still be functional in the world but is askew.

The Salem witch trials still haunt our history and so often it is hard for some people not to impose their fundamental spiritual beliefs on others. But, to set someone on FIRE! OMG!
The thing that really struck me was that he asked her if she believed in witchcraft and she said no. He was reacting to the fact that she was teaching The Crucible...
The Salem Witch Trials should still haunt us. 19 men and women were hung and 1 man was stoned to death. Hundreds were shackled and locked away so greedy people could steal their property and land. The youngest person to be charged was a 5 year old girl, they had to make special shackles to fit her tiny wrists.
We should no more forget this then we should forget the Holocaust.

Wish I could say I'm surprised. Growing up I was threatened almost daily with physical and sexual attacks. I was lucky that no one ever followed through on them. I wonder what he did dump on her though.

I saw this and just backed off, this crap pisses me off. I had received dath-threat phone calls when I came out of the broom closet and was interviewed for the newspaper. (this was several years back)
