The darkness can never put out the Light!

John 1 (New Living Translation) Prologue: Christ, the Eternal Word

¹ In the beginning the Word already existed.
The Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
² He existed in the beginning with God.
³ God created everything through him,
and nothing was created except through him.
⁴ The Word gave life to everything that was created,
and his life brought light to everyone.
⁵ The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness can never extinguish it.

I am starting my Bible studying in John next and I want to share with you when things touch my heart. I think it is so awesome that God is the Light and that nothing can put His Light out. Satan is the darkness and no matter what he tries, he cannot put out God's Light. Satan is going to try every way he can to dim God's Light in our lives by causing bad things to happen and causing us to think bad thoughts BUT Praise the Lord if we keep our eyes on Jesus and stay in the Word, satan will not cause God's light to dim in out lives. We want out Light to shine so others can see it and know that we have something that they really want. That is what our desire should be.

God's light shines in the darkness and the darkness can NEVER put it out! Thank you Jesus!

Wonderful study, Cathie! Yes...........it seems like stupid Satan is always around, trying and trying ever so hard to tempt us, to get us to look away from Jesus and to entrap us, especially when things aren't going so well. It's so important to always focus our thoughts/attention on Him!!!!!

Amen. I'll join you on your study. I am reading the Contemporary English Version.
I set a goal to read three (3) chapters a day, starting November 1, 2009 as part of this study guide on the book of John. I hope to post articles. God Bless You.
