I have been familiar with brown wings in the past even when I was a little child when running all around grasses all over behind my house. At that time nothing interested me about these wings as it is common and looking unattractive. I found these creatures as a menace, I loved colorful butterflies then and I avoided this particular one. But I can see it where all I went to any other places. I also thought why god created this brownish thing in numbers. Why not other colorful angels too rare?
Years passed, now I could find the reality of nature, the biological reason, the natural law of survival. Once I read the great book ever seen "The evolution of Species"; you know the author from the title. Such a wonderful book it is which triggered my creativity and curiosity about nature and its species that ran all over from the depth of the great oceans to the high mountains. Now I found brownish coloration is not unattractive, but the coloration itself has survival value to the creature or insect. Even I could see most of the humans are brownish! Brownish coloration perfectly matches the color of mud and is a perfectly camouflaging color to the environment. The other color is green and greenish variation of hues towards the yellowish.
Last day I had seen a green spider, but it took time to spot one in my front, even though it was there for hours. Here I am talking about Nigger and Common Bush brown Butterflies and its brownish coloration. When I go through various scientific publication about butterflies I could find the Scientific name of Nigger is Orsotrioena medus and for Common Bush Brown, mycalesis perseus. I don't know the subject Taxonomy and has no deep knowledge in Latin related subject and how to put scientific name! Initially I thought all brownish butterflies are common and are of one type! After reading "Butterflies of India" a book that was written in Malayalam language (a regional language of India) that features almost all common butterflies in Indian continent I could find that there are two types of Brown Butterflies dwelling grassland that are seen commonly all over. I rushed out to spot the difference and both are there in my location. Surprisingly, I got a new knowledge that my
location is abundant of both butterflies and counted few tens of them from the nearby bushes rushing for nectar and juices. Some times I found these butterflies basking in the sunlight. Even though I am lucky to shot pictures of them, I couldn't get one with open wings as it fly away without considering my photographic curiosity.
Common Bush Brown

Nigger
You know the difference about these two brown jewels? Nigger has thick white line with around 4 to 5 beautiful rings near the tip of the wings while Common bush brown has a thin white line with around 9 to 10 rings near the tip of the wings. These rings as a survival value for the brown wings by making predators confused as something like a creature with numerous eyes is resting. Because of these rings predators avoid Bush browns and Niggers. Now I love these brown wings and I am happy with these wonderful feathers all around my house.

with the white stripe. I'm not sure if I've
seen any species as this. But I marvel at
the Monarch butterfly which I deem the
most beautiful of all!! My ancestors the
American Indians called these Flutterbys
and of course down through the ages it
was changed into butterfly.
