Exotic, alluring, luxuriously wild
Eye candy to each passing child.
Soft, pointed rainbow talons reach,
Toward endless skies and salty beach.
Roots firmly planted in sandy ground,
Tucked away yet easily found.
Breezes send fragrant waves adrift,
Flowery faces wave and lift.
Christ's blood thrives amidst the rubble,
Picked by a burly man with stubble.
Handed to a lady with woebegone eyes,
The wild orchid is a beautiful surprise.

Sistah Mariana asked us to write the second ripple about a flower that represents ourselves. I chose to write about the wild orchid.
