When I would teach my students about metaphors, I had a fun way to teach them. I would ask them to chose an animal that would best describe a student in class. One student would volunteer and then, the class would discuss and chose the animal that was most like that student.
Sometimes, I would be picked. My favorite was a big football player. He said I was a mother. I explained to him that that was not an animal or a metaphor. He said, I'm sorry, but you're a mother and their is no other way to describe you. I was also called a prairie dog. That one was so good it hurt!
So what animal would you be or chose a friend to describe metaphorically. Please unlike my football player chose an animal.
