My before and after HDR picture

 This is a before and after of the HDR photo that I published.

When doing an HDR you really should use a tripod to ensure each photo is exactly the same.Thankfull when I used this My hand was pretty steady. I didnt use my tripod. I switched my camera to M mode. The took 3 seperate pictures easch with a different exsposure. Then the Photomatrix software mixed all three of them into one photo. Then I used tone mapping to adjust the coloring.

 First one was very dark.

 A little lighter

 And alot lighter.

All mixed together make this

Thanks youall. Bill I downloaded a free trial of photomatrix. Here a hint. Dont close the program out other wise you wont be able to get back into it since its a trial only.

Ken I am to. I actually have no idea how to use any setting other than the automatics LOL. I just kind of played around with it a bit. Im starting to get the hang of it a tad more. I just thing you learn the more pictures you take.

Thank you! Jennifer I used a free trial version of Photomatrix. Just do a search on it and it should pop up. Its a unlimited time trial but they put watermarks on the photos since its only a trial. I just photoshop the words out! Otherwise the software costs $100 or so I think.

If your camera has the ability to shoot raw files you can use different processing adjustments to get the results from a single capture. It would eliminate the worry about any movement of the tripod or camera during the exposures, or any other random variables (like a bird flying through the background)

Thanks for sharing this, susy. I appreciate you taking the time to show what's involved with the HDR process. I have a 7.2 megapixel Sony (not an SLR), but I'm still trying to figure out what all the selections and buttons do.

Wow, that is a wonderful creation! Great job! Now you've got my wheels turning on how to create more pictures. I'm still working out all the intricacies of Photoshop. I don't need another hobby just yet! lol

LOL Thanks everyone! Landen and David, I too am still trying to learn. I dont know how to use all my camera's button's and stuff. And really I'm pretty clueless when it comes to photoshop. Unless I have detailed instructions. Which I did thankfully :0)
