I am a huge animal lover and everyone that knows me says that any animal that comes to live at my house has died and gone to heaven . . . and lives in luxury. I take pictures of dogs, cats, horses, and I feel that a dog is truly man's best friend.
If you look at my photos, you'll see my love for my dogs, my cats, and horses. I have grown up a horse lover, always had dogs, and acquired cats when I married my husband. He's a cat fan.
My dogs talk to me . . . smile at me (showing their teeth whenever I come through the door) and they kiss and love on me as if I had been gone for days, weeks, even months, though I might have only been out of the house for an hour. They lay with me late at night on the sofa, lay with me in my office at home when I'm home working, and follow me just about every footstep during the day. My husband leaves for work very, very early in the mornings, and my dog, Foster (50-lb spaniel mix) is usually the first face I see in the mornings, with his head on my pillow, waiting to see me open my eyes and give him "tummy-rubbies" first thing. Kobe is on the floor beside the bed (90-lb plush-coated German Shepherd) and he awaits his tummy-rubbies and kisses as soon as my feet hit the floor. They are my babies (as all my children are gone now to college). I talk to them and I know they understand me. Football is a usual mid-afternoon sport for Kobe while Foster does his bee-chasing and foraging for small critters in the garden.
For all of you who share your lives with an animal, whether it be a cat, dog, bird, llama, pot-bellied pig, or whatever other "exotic" animal that may reside with you, they are the sugar for our souls, the warmth of a mid-winter fire, the pitter-patter of our hearts when those eyes meet ours and they whisper "I love you unconditionally." Don't you all wish our children would feel the same way????
Bend down and kiss your four-legged friends and thank God that he has granted these creatures to love and cherish!

I too love my dogs everyday, in the morning & all evening! Although I do let them know that I'm the pack leader - like Cesar Milan says on his shows The Dog Whisperer - awesome show~

It really makes no sense why we love them so!
My huge German Shepard saved my life twice. One Shepard I had was stolen during hunting season. I pray that in heaven I'll see them all again.
I am a big animal lover as well. I don't know what I would do with out them.

I told my kids (teenagers) the other day that the dogs showed their love for me unconditionally and that I wish that they loved me half as much as the dogs do. They just looked at me and tried half heartedly to deny the truth. They finally just gave up and went back to ignoring me. LOL..
I enjoyed reading your article. Very nice.
Blessings to your whole fuzzy family... and humans too...
