I don't know enough to say. HOWEVER I can say if I felt my children were in danger I'd do anything to save them. NOW I have no idea why she did what she did, I haven't followed the case. Heard about it in passing that's all.

No, she should be in prison the rest of her life. Her kids need to be in a stable home with stable guardians.

Did they get into 'why' she is not in prison? I saw that she was going to be on there and I thought she was in jail. I was surprised that she wasn't. So, what's the scoop? :)

I gues I don't know who she is. If she did murder her husband, then no, she should not have the children- she should be in jail.

I'll not judge her until she is judged by a jury. She did not evidently harm her kids and claimed to kill her husband to protect them or so I understand. I see no reason to give her back her kids until this matter is settled in court.

This is the first I've heard of it. But, I think the kids' protection should be the first consideration.

I have not heard of this but NO I do not think she should if sh could shoot her husband in the back then she is capable of killing herself and children. No she should not

However I would like to read WHY she killed her husband! Was her and her children REALLY at danger.. BUT either way if her and her children were in danger she should have went to the police or something

I think the kids should be protected no matter what but if she did indeed kill her husband to protect her kids. I have to give her some consideration but then again there should have been a better alternative.

I think that she should get her children back. It is a right and a privilage to be a parent and we should not let others decided whether we fit or not

Maybe she needs counseling before she gets her children. We don't know the problems Mary and her husband had. I'm not going to judge her.

She is on Oprah (EDT) as I write. If the abuse did occur, then she needs to have training so she does not become the abuser as often happens when one undergoes such a trauma as murdering another human being. The kids need their mom but not if she is going to constanly be blaming herself or maybe taking it out on them in small ways that add up to years of being raised by a crazy woman. I don't know but she should have supervised visits until she proves herself trustworthy.

I watched Oprah today, and I think the kids should stay with their grandparents. She seemed unstable to me too.

I watch Oprah today also,, I think she tried to prtect herself,, as I was in a hard relationshi, not physlly but verbally abuse back 17 yrs ago, it is not easy to get away. I had guts and help and I wasn't a preacher wife, I think she should get help and get her kids back with the help. my kids were taken away back in 1991 for 16 months, till I got awayand got help to take care of them. They were gone, yet I got the help and appreciate it, and now I have two wonderfull kids to show for it, plau additonall children who came into my life.. yes she need a second chance with help and guidence, and we shall not judge because we were NOT there...

I think because they are already so traumatized by what their mother did (right or wrong) they should stay with their paternal grandparents where they have been for the last two years. I'm not sure how she got off. I heard she killed him because he wanted kinky sex with her and wouldn't take no for an answer but then today I heard her tell Oprah that on that day he was woken by the baby crying and that he flew into a rage and was suffocating the baby and would not give the baby to Mary. She told Oprah that she he would do that to stop the baby from crying but would stop when she was unconscious. That's the first I've heard that so I don't know know enough about the case to judge her but for the kids sake she should walk away until there comes a day when they want to see/talk to her.

For those who don't know the oldest testified against her and she's only nine but she was apparently very traumatized.

I would normally say that kids belong with their mother but there is something about her demeanor that is so unconvincing to me. I really cannot believe most of what she said or why she says she did what she did.

I think that it should be up to competent psychiatric doctors. It should start with supervised visits anyway. The kids are going to need adjustment too.

I will not judge her because I don't know what all went all. There is always more detail than what the media every displays. If she didn't go to jail, than something more was going. If she did it to protect herself or the kids, than i say more power to her for standing up for herself and the kids. Someone times murder in my opinion is the only way out. I mean come on if you heard your preacher was abusing his wive or kids would you belive it? I don't most of you would. As this case is close to my heart because my niece was sexually abused by her church's preacher. The church turned against my sister in law and said she should turn a blind eye and not prosecute. That she ruined the church. People don't want to beleive our preachers and such can do any wrong.
I don't think the mother should be punished anymore and be kept away from her kids. If the courts didn't make her get a psych test. Than who are we to decide what is best in this situation? I do think once everything is said and done. She needs to get her life back together.

Constant abuse can drive you over the edge. I don't know enough to give a good answer. The stress on the average family today is shameful. Seems our political leadership is more concerned about corporation profits and campaign donations than they are about the average citizen.

There are too many "what if's" here for me to judge. A mother who loves her children will do anything to protect them, and I believe killing could be among those actions. It's a scary truth. I have only followed the headlines in this case so am not up to date on any of the specifics.

I hope she doesn't get custody, but I would hope the grandparents let her visit the kids. The children have to try to heal and hatred of the mother is not going to be good for the kids. I forgot OJ got custody of his kids, but he was found innocent. She admited she did it.

I can't fully answer that without knowing more...I know a bit more than is mentioned here... but I would like to see her under supervision
