***** It looks like Ron Paul's Audit the Fed is moving along. Dennis Rehberg is MTs only Representative. I am glad he is on board.
Dear Friend of Liberty, Ron Paul's Audit the Fed bill is now up to 186 cosponsors! That means over 40% of the entire House of Representatives is currently signed onto HR 1207. And thanks to your hard work, Representative Dennis R. Rehberg is one of the 186 proud cosponsors. Not only has over forty percent of the House cosponsored HR 1207, but Barney Frank has even promised Ron Paul that he will hold hearings in the House Financial Services Committee. When these hearings occur in a few months, Ron wants to have a majority of House members on board . . . so there will be no stopping Audit the Fed. It is amazing what we've been able to accomplish in the House on the back of tireless grassroots efforts. But now it is time to start thinking about the next step. Pretty soon we will be turning our attention to the Senate, where we are certain to face a more difficult fight. There, corporate lobbyists and Beltway insiders wield even more powerful influence. Many Senators are already bought and sold by Wall Street bankers and their Federal Reserve flunkies. And the Banking Lobby is already pumping piles of cash into Senate campaign coffers in a preemptive stand against Federal Reserve transparency. Fortunately, Campaign for Liberty has been developing a grassroots program and a massive marketing campaign to counter the banksters' efforts. And we're almost ready to launch. But it won't be cheap, and we can't afford to run out of gas before the job is done and Audit the Fed is passed. |

It's scary isn't it? I can't even take it all in. I'm going to have to save this and reread it, to do it justice.
Every financial institution in the nation is audited regularly except the fed. That does not make sense.
If it has to go through the Senate, it'll never fly. Not with Democrat control. Just a guesstimation here.... but how many Senators do you think are getting a large cut of the "stimulous" money? Whether it be for campaigning or not... it's just wrong... if it is, indeed, occurring.
And giving all that money to bankers.. that was the biggest joke I've ever seen. If they "lost" their shorts by their own mistakes, why give them more money to make disappear?
If the organization needs money, I can be counted out. But I can email Rehberg and say thanks. He's still a politician, but I think, one of the better and more honest of the lot. Tester and Baucus.... a losing cause, in a lot of cases. I can honestly say, I voted for neither of them.
I don't know Tester might have a brain but Baucus is a lost cause as far as I am concerned. He has been in there way too long.
Rehberg usually votes the way I was thinking.
The Senate is going to be some fight. One would think the Republicans would be the main ones against auditing the fed but I think it is just the ones that have been on the dole from the money people and that is most of them, both sides of the room
until people realize the culpability of both parties on this over the years, we will have too many defend NOT auditing.
I'm unsure if the majority of both parties are involved or its the massive deficit now that has so many digging in their heels. Once the teetering edifice is exposed, the screams against the latest spendathons under Obama would stop him dead in his tracks. He is quite simply a one trick pony now and that only trick is spend.
good post Colonel...
An audit could uncover the sins. That would logically be followed by a through investigation and probably indictments. It would our could kill the fed and put the coining of money back in the hands of Congress where the Constitution says it belongs.
What worries me is any pressure Israel will put on members with information they've gained through running the warrantless wiretapping program that was outsourced to Israeli (front) companies - because of Israel's relationship with those running the Fed.
I expect that we'll see a lot of 'scandal' involving supporting members show up in the mainstream media right when this reaches critical :(
That would not suprise me at all. Outsourcing spying, what a concept.
Personally I doubt this bill will ever pass. I read this a.m. that the SC Supreme Court was forcing the governor of that state to accept federal "stimulus" money. Everything about it is unconstitutional according to the US and the SC constitution.
We have been outsourcing our spying for quite some time and as B has pointed out much is done by foreign owned/run companies. Pearl Harbor was cited as the reason for taking that authority away from the Navy although we know their intelligence was the most reliable throughout history. What the president and others chose to do with the information is a different story. The CIA, NSA et el. are not government departments and can spy/compile information on anyone with complete disregard of the constitution while at the same time claiming the rights of a person under the constitution. In other words the government doesn't have the authority to violate their fourth amendment and the president and congress have no control over them.
I bet the Supreme Court enjoyed that. It is not often that they get to force a State to take money.
Agreed that it is against both Constitutions.
Pearl Harbor. Everyone in the Navy, stationed at Pearl, knew there was going to be an attack and on a Sunday. I knew a half dozen sailors who were there and they all told me the same story. It was Washington DC that screwed that one up. They had the information.
The government does have the authority to disband both the CIA and NSA and they ought to do it. I don't know about the NSA but the CIA has long ago overstepped its purpose. From what I have read so has the NSA.
Go Ron Paul. I hope he gets enough on his side and they can do a good investagation
It is something the country needs.
I'm all for it Colonel. Bring these people to justice. Hold those who are responsible responsible. A much better solution than replacing capitalism with a totalitarian Socialist state.
It looks as though a totalitarian Socalist State is wahat we are going to have for at least a while.
