We the people need to ask the candidates the right questions and get their commitment to the answers. What got the nation into the mess we are in right now?
Iraq could have been prevented as well as Afghanistan. We would not have a Corporite controlled Media. We would not have lost a lot of our freedoms. If not for Bush & Co.
Which candidate of the many promised to ask congress to Repeal the Patriot Act? How about the many acts that were the outgrowth of the Patriot Act? Which candidate promised to eliminate the War Powers Act, revoke the bill that Bush used to declare war on Iraq. Who promised to eliminate Homeland Security and all the regualtions they have imposed on us. What about Real ID?
Who says he will introduce legislation that limits Signing Statements and Executive Orders. Bush has used both to change laws and to create laws and agencies. Which one said he would see that the practice would be eliminate and fix it so no president could do that in the future?
Which candidate will reinstitute the restrictions on ownership of the Media.
Which candidate will eliminate multinational and interstate banks to take us back to the days when banks could not have branches in multiple states.

We just need them to uphold protect and defend the Constitution as had been done prior to Nixon and now Bush.
Here are two (2) questions, I'd like to put out there:
1) Which of the Candidates will push for abolishing the electorate college in favor of using the popular vote for the primaries?
This is one way we could get a grass roots reflection directly from the public, The party's have too much control during the primaries and limit the candidates that can get on the ballot. Maybe 3rd party candidates would have a better chance. The conventions are a joke because we know who the candidates already.
2) Which candidate will push for general campaign finance reform which ensures the use of public financing?
The amount of money these guys raise is OBSCENE! They might as well just buy the election. Besides so much of the money is tainted by lobbyists and fat-cat donors in spite of an increase in the number of small-time donors. That big money will influence the POTUS somehow and someway for the four years after the election.
Thanks!
Soozan, Ron Paul answered every single one of those questions at the time the legislation was enacted and during his campaign. His ideas were labled too radical and kooky. Now we are seeing that he was right on.
He predicted the mess with Fanny Mae and Fredie Mac Five years ago. You can find his speach from then by looking at my articles.
He fought against the Iraq war and is the only candidate that did. He fought against the Patriot act and again was the only candidate that did. He fought against the Homegrown Terrorist Act and Real ID. He has fought for our rights and the ending of the Bush wars every time.
Obama claims he was against the Iraq war but he was not in congress at the time. At one time he said he voted against it untill someone told him he could not have done that.
Both Obama and McCain have voted FOR every appropiation to keep the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and occupations going.
I have said numerous time that Bush is only to fornt man. Why do you think I nearly always refer to him as Bush & Co?
When they come to round up the disidants you can expect them to come for you as well as for me. When they do they will find out why my name was "Flyswatter".
Really I thought you had been reading me longer. Ron Paul and the Campaign for Liberty is our best hope to curb them and just possably our last. The end of the United States is close at hand if it is not stopped NOW.
Welcome to the Tinfoil Hat society. I wear a size 7 1/2 what about you?
I recently rreceived a response from the state attorney general. He stated, emphaticallyand repeatedly, that he does not represent "the people" of the state, but that he represents the state "in its official capacity."
That immediatley made me think that he would be a perfect candidate to volunteer to go on a hunting trip with Dick Cheney, even if he had to be dragged out there.
BTW. You mentioned the Federal Reserve. Try looking way farther than that. The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are the ones that have everything in their hip pockets, including the Federal Reserve. But, you can rest assured, their mission will be what brings about their own demise.
Am glad that it is hard to amend our constittution, but maybe this is one that might have a chance.
Like you all, I am a fan of Ron Paul, but if you are going to be a politician (And EVERYONE who runs for office is a politician no matter what they claim) you cannot be a one trick pony. He and Lou Dobbs both have the same chance of success.
And guys, who would you start shooting and sniping at? Candidates, firemen, policemen, spammers (that might be a place to start)
Give me some details.
And where did the last revolution work? Cuba? They are doing well if you are in the market for a 53 Hudson.
Getting rid of the Electorial College? That would make it harder for the Fascists to take over.
The last revolution? not Cuba. That one didn't work very well they elected a Change candidate and Castro became dictator
Abolishing the electoral college is great idea ifyopu want to make sure the heartland of the country become politically irrelevant. Politicians will only campaign in population centers.............LA NYC, Chicago, Miami. In other words it will ensure Democrat presidents forever............but then again that's really the point isn't it?
You have a good point re the Electorian College.
The problem with you Chrs is that a right lost to all is a personal right lost. general rights are as importantant a spcific ones.
You infer that I am a Democrat chris. boy are you wrong. I am a Ron Paul Republican.
Why did we have electoral college in the first place - to keep big states from having too much power? Now there are more big states.
I noticed someone talking in another thread about the debate last night and how there were a lot of Ron Paul republicans outside. Personally, I'd have been really interested in seeing Paul's comments on the questions.
The electoral congress is there for a reason. To prevent the tyranny of the majority.
McCain voted For the Patriot act. Obama was not in the Senate at the time but he has voted FOR every act in support of the Patriot Act and all of the modifications.
I don''t want an armed rebelllion in this country but I am going to be prepared just in case.
