I heard the speech yesterday. It sounded like a mockingbird coming through the mic whenever there was a pause. I hate political poetry because it's so strident, hysterical and preachy. This is muted enough for me though.

But Peter, people do go too far in a haiku. It must be the most misunderstood and mistreated form of poetry. The nitwitted paint-by-numbers syllable counting BS that passes for haiku among...

well, I do go on. But if you mean, at least it's over quick, I agree. ;)

Love your pic A.G Saucy!. I'm of the opinion "thorn infested" will ring true of any succeeding administration as well. I don't expect a golden age to be forthcoming from any of the lot. I can only hope for another songbird to be near the mic.
