Jimmie played the guitar

he played it loud

he played it strong

he dreamed of someday

becomming a rockstar

but today he played

at the old folks home

to bring joy and music

to those who had none

like the little drummer boy

who played his drum

Jimmie strummed the strings

and Jimmie sang a song

for music should be shared

not played alone in some garage

so Jimmie played for them

carols and soft songs

though he dreamed

big dreams of rockstar fame

today Jimmie brought smiles

and sweet memories 

back to those who had

forgotten  their dreams

long ago
