Do You Iron Your Sheets?

I just took my new bed sheets out of the package to wash them. 

The care label says. "Wash in cold water, tumble dry on gentle, iron on cool setting".

Iron - a sheet - I don't think so.

I haven't used an iron in 10 years.  If it has to be ironed, I don't buy it.

As for the sheets, well, they're going to get wrinkled anyway and, in addition, they are under my comforter and throw pillows. What do I care?

Do you iron your sheets, if so what else do you iron anything else and why?

I don't iron my sheets, or anything else! When my husband needs his stuff ironed he knows how to do it...lol. I told him that when he was in boot camp he was taught where all the creases go whereas I wasn't schooled when I became his wife, so that's his job! I do sew his patches on for him, though. :)

Heck no! My mother does though....but she was a stay at home mom and the perfect Donna Reed clone. I say that in the most positive and respectful way :)

irons are for use to apply cool t-shirt transfers which one prints out on special paper to t-shirts. Period. Full stop.

If it has to be ironed, it stays on the rack. Of course, I am also one of those awful people that doesn't bother to separate their laundry. I figure if it gets dyed, I don't need it anyway. Whaddya know, 10 years away from mom and have never had pink underwear that didn't come that way.

I had an aunt who washed and ironed her family's sheets every day.....talk about OCD!

I'm with you. If it has to be ironed, I don't buy it. The best anything is going to get around here is hung in the bathroom to steam while I'm showering.

How in the world do you iron a sheet to begin with? lol the task seems to large to even dream of.
I only iron jeans and dress clothes, and even then that is only in the most dire of needs.

My people, my people! I've finally found my people!

I always thought I was the odd person out because two of my best friends do weekly ironing. I too throw things back inot the dryer until it looks acceptable. Gosh it's good to know I'm NOT the oddball.

I only iron something if the wrinkles don't hang out or it doesn't become better after a trip to the dryer and I really want to wear it. Never ironed a sheet and don't plan to start.

Crap I think I'm the strange one because I do iron my sheets. I love the crispness of getting in a bed with perfect corners, however I find that I iron less because I'm buying sheets with 500 thread count or more.

I am a ironing nut. It's one of those brain numbing things I like to do. When I'm stressed or upset I take a bunch of things out of my closet and start ironing. Same thing with the bathroom and kitchen. I clean when I'm nervous, anxious, stressed, worrisome, writers block, etc.

When I first married,I ironed everything...Back then it was all 100% cotton.I've ironed many sheets(we didn't have fitted sheets then)I've always enjoyed ironing,it relaxes me.
When polyester became,I quit ironing....Now,I just do touch ups,or throw the article back in the dryer with a wet fingertip towel to steam out the wrinkles.

here's a fast fix - keep one of those cheap spray bottles full of water in your bedroom or bathroom and make sure you have it on spray and not stream. Lightly spray the wrinkles away, but don't get the clothing too wet because you will then have to go out in public with wet splotches all over LOL This works on most types of fabrics, but obviously not all.
I iron absolutely NOTHING. Last year I splurged BIG TIME and bought some 720 thread count sheets. They're a dream to sleep on, but they never really look smooth. I looked at the eyelet lace edges and how crumpled they looked and briefly wondered how gorgeous they would be if I ironed them. Then I regained my sanity.

My husband irons. I had thrown this little cloth belt from a new pair of jeans into the laundry room on wash day. The belt was kind of twisted from getting stuck in my fat rolls. I couldn't find it when I next went to wear the jeans. He presented it to me...freshly ironed. HE IRONED MY BELT FOR GOD'S SAKE!!!

I have an iron and an ironing board, but haven't used either in a while. I mainly keep them around for when I need to iron a piece of clothing for a special occasion. After my dad died in '95, ironing was what helped me get thru the time before his funeral. I ironed anything I could find, my mother's linen tablecloth was my favorite because it was huge and took forever to finish. I loved ironing when I was a kid too, back before permanent press made it nearly obsolete. Pillowcases were more my speed back then since I had very little patience at 8 yrs. old. :)

I don't iron my sheets...but I do iron my pillowcases....they feel fabulous after a nice ironing!
Andrea, I know. I've had many requests to have him cloned. If I listed all he did, every female in the country would hunt me down and have me killed.

My Great Aunt decided at 92 to stop ironing. She died at 101 in 2003. I caught an iron when I was in high school and it stuck to my left arm. A&D lotion helped a lot. I only have where the front vent hole was at the tip of the iron as a scar. Over the years the rest remarkable healed. I will iron a shirt for my husband for a job interview. That's about it. If you pull them out of the dryer and let them hang, it helps. Another trick is to hang a shirt in the bathroom when you shower and the steam helps.

My mom ironed sheets for quite a few years. She had a mangle, one of those things with heated rollers that you could feed big pieces of cloth through. She gave it up when she was 40 or so and never looked back.

She taught me to iron when I was 11. I wanted to wear a shirt that was in the ironing pile so she got out the iron and ironing board and made me do it. I've ironed clothing 3 or 4 times in the last 5 years. I hope never to do it again.

No ironing, no dry cleaning.

I iron and starch my sheets. To me there is nothing better than going to bed on freshly starched and ironed sheets. My husband irons eveyrthing else. Ya'll don't know what you're missing.

No, not sheets, although my sister irons sheets, tea towels and UNDERWEAR!

I do iron Linen blouses that I wear in summer - they crinkle up fast but I still like them to look fresh when I put them on.
LOL not in THIS lifetime! I do own an iron, but I forget why. :-)

If it has wrinkles I put it on a hanger and hang it from my shower curtain while I shower-then wrinkles or not wear it -LOL

My best friend DID have me iron her sheets once at 1am the morning of her wedding-I was her maid of honor,she was getting some pictures taken in the new home w/her mom in te bedroom and she had these new "lacey-crochet-type" sheets that she had washed before placing them on the bed. well of course they were beyond wrinkled when we rturned from the rehersal dinner that evening and they had sat in the dryer for hours- SOOO i spent almost an hour ironing them -just so she could go to sleep -anything for the bride to be!!!
