Gather Pet Peeves

Attitudes . . .

I'm pretty new to Gather. Yesterday someone said something about getting messages from people just to ask them to read their article and I didn't know what they were talking about, until this morning when I got my first such e-mail. Now I get it, and I can see how that would get real old real fast. :-P So, my pet peeve is the same as yours. That, and I wish I could have new articles that are posted to all of my groups also show up in my "my articles" section so I don't have to wander around for them. Okay, I'm done complaining now.

I don't have any pet peeves about anything or any body, if ever you're not happy with anything I send, say, publish I am always open to email concerns..Don't like to be a bother, ya know,,,,I can make a list of people that don't want to see certain cotent or even stories,,,don't be shy let these that bother know, most will take your feelings into consideration, I'm sure.

I wish I could Select All Groups when I publish an article instead of having to check each one.

I hate that. These are the people at the top of my "drop" list. Hello, relationships are a two way street, or the other person is just using you. And that counts for connections, too. -.-

Mine is the same as yours Leanne, I get emails all the time and I usually delete them.

the BIGGEST pet peeve I have is when people wander by and rate you with a 1 for no apparent reason and then don't leave a comment to explain it. And then they go through ALL of your stuff and do it just because they feel like it. Drives me nuts.

I agree with your pet peeve Leanee. My biggest pet peeve would be rude people who are just rude for no reason. For instance, I posted an article a while back asking a very specific question and someone left multiple comments attacking my family values, my life, my children, etc. Just totally rude and unrelated to the question asked.

I agree with everything although I tried not to get to bothered on Gather. I'm pretty thankful that I found it. My first article I sent an email cuz I was excited but now I'm over that. It does suck though when you do spend a lot of time on an article and it gets buried under a bunch of "stuff" and you get like one comment...but that's personal...we all have the right to post. And it sucks when you want a group to stay with it's original meaning and you get a bunch of other junk in there and have to sort through it all. But otherwise I'm pretty happy!

All great pet peeves!

1. The emails to read someone's something or other - if we are connected I get it anyway... so then I get it twice.
1a. That most of these people doing this, don't comment on my stuff. I am no great writer or thinker or anything like that, but I'm not in many of those groups, and don't post my drivel there anyway.
2. The organization of the publish page list of groups - if the theme is not in the title, sometimes it is confusing to know if I should post to a certain group or not... and have been chastised for posting to wrong groups. Its my fault and I'm sorry, but I am human. That page just should be better organized somehow.
3. When someone is having a promotion like Randee today, and Gather won't let me open my publish page - or the humidity is causing my computer to malfunction - but everything else seems to be working (well also can't find a redemption form where they're supposed to be, or anywhere else for that matter - but there is always tomorrow).
4. People who go out of their way to hurt other people.
5. Rude people.
6. Stupid people.
7. People who are too stupid to know they're being rude.
Guess that's enough for now.

8. Today Gather won't let me view the comments on my articles so I can try to pay some people back for commenting on my articles.

unimaginative games like name a word that starts with n or a city in a state. But most of all people who flood my gather email box with notices of ariticles to read that they have posted. If you post I will read.

I'd like to add to it, 'When Gather doesn't process my point-earning actions for days or a week. What's with the big delay?' It's only my pet peeve because I'm clearly not here for the points since I'm rarely on and post once a millennium. I play catch up with my friends' posts about once a month or so. The points are a bonus and seeing them go up makes me feel like I've accomplished something. It's annoying to post a couple of articles and comment on 20 others only to see the point total budge by two or three. Then, magically two weeks or so pass and I get to log in for a few minutes and *boom* there's gobs of points. NO! I need to see them immediately to keep bolstering me and encouraging me like little cheerleaders to read one more post or stay up a few more minutes to view all the new pics from another friend. Why is there that great big delay in point processing?
