The Collins group wants you to share your vision. Tell us: What is your dream in life?

Share your visions and dreams in the comment field below. The Gather team will select the writers of their top five favorite comments to receive a copy of Joyce Schwarz's book, The Vision Board. My dream in life is simple. I want people to get along and to work together at making the world a better place while staying as positive as possible. I want children's basic needs to be fulfilled and I want the elderly to have people in their lives that care and help them. I want to work myself out of a job as a special educator and give every child with a disability of any kind a chance to see life from the other side. The side where everything isn't so hard and where the simple act of reading a book or writing a sentence isn't painful. I want the people of the world to challenge themselves to do one nice thing a day! This would fulfill my dream in life.

My dream in life is to remember what it's like to have a dream in life. I've lost my dreams along the way and the ones that I thought were MINE have turned into someone else's dream for me. I'd love to be able to find my own dream and aim for it. Being unemployed was fun for awhile and I thought with this time free I'd be able to figure out what I want to do and be when I "grow up," but as time wears on, it starts to feel impossible to accomplish any dream. Yet I'm not giving up hope. I just need to search inside myself and find my heart and passions again. Once that's done perhaps I can get back on the road to fulfilling my dream... whatever it may be.

My vision is to change the policies in schools for the parents of children with special needs children. I want to make it so that the minute a child is put on an IEP, the parent is given a list of services they can tap into for their children and make it easier for the parents to tap into them. No parent should ever have to fight for the right to have their special needs child educated in the same way as others.

My dream in life would be for there to be no more hatred in the world. I dream of a world with no more bigotry regarding race, religion, sexual orientation, disability, etc. I dream of a world that doesn't hate people because of their differences, but encourages them and accepts them as unique qualities that just make everyone special!!!

The vision I have for myself, brings me to Costa Rica. My favorite place to be. I would love to create a Recovery Retreat for those that come to Costa Rica for dental & cosmetic procedures. It is a growing industry in this area & I feel like I would be a great person to do so~

I made a vision board back when I was in high school- and I am still amazed that every single thing that I envisioned for myself has come to be. I am at a stage in my life where it is time to create a new vision of what I want to accomplish, and I DO need to once again put together a vision board. I am a believer in how well they work!

My personal vision/dream for myself (if I might be so greedy) is to one day find happiness in all aspects of my life and career. I would love being content in the future that I have made good decisions for myself and haven't made any mistakes in life.

While my vision isn't something to do with the world view, as some of these are, mine is one that I've had for the majority of my life.

At sixteen I found a love of writing, and decided that my dream and goal in life was to write a novel that I'd eventually have published. Since then I've strived to make that goal as much of an reality as I could. This included marching on in the face of adversity - be it nay sayers, writer's block, growing pains, style changes, genre changes, etc.

I have sought out materials to help me hone my skills, and to strengthen and identify my weak areas. I've been participating in (and winning!) NaNoWriMo for two years - this year is my third time participating. I've grown as a writer, yes, but I still have a long way to go until I reach my goal.

At 31 years old, I am still reaching for that goal with the hope that one day I'll make that final leap and finally hold it in my hands, rather than just holding it in my heart.

My dream is to help my community gather the funds they need for a Gay community center, which part of would be geared to kids who are gay and struggling about it in general and with their parents. For kids that have been disowned by their parents, the community center would help fill out financial aid forms so that they could go to college. With the recent hate crime in California (which is what exactly the passing of Prop 8 was, no matter how you try to sugarcoat it), it is even more important now for LGBTQ and straight supporters to pull together in California communities and determine our next move. A LGBTQ community center is much needed where I live so that everyone has a safe and supportive place to go.

Working, laughing, and playing with groups of earnest, focused, and inspiring people has helped me through losses that can line up to test balance at certain times.

I dream that ReCode Portland, the Portland Permaculture Guild, City Repair, DePave, The Portland Fruit Tree Project, the Portland Center for Sustainability, and groups such as these can help my communities thrive through the challenges brought about by long-time sub-optimal stewardship of the gifts of Garden Earth.

Peoples before us who have lived in harmony have many things to show us. I think of Wangari Maathi, of Kenya, and her stories from elders about the sacredness of the trees that prevented erosion on steep hillsides.

My vision for myself is in telling stories of brave people who call on the buried good parts in persons who don't look very good, as Wangari Maathi did. When the buried good parts respond, even if grudgingly, better ways of being can be created.

We need to replace hard-pan dead ground with Earth that lives and is diverse and interesting. I want to be part of that.

The parts of me that represent womanhood for many have been chopped off. I want to believe I can have better virtual womanhood by living, working, writing, and talking in ways that promote good-willed problem-solving.

My being human and this being Planet Earth, I know there will be cranky bickering along the way. Gaia-willing, I will laugh later, when I tell the bickering stories, or when I exercise discipline and don't tell them.

Thanks for posting this challenge. I must run to my breast-cancer survivor exercise group.

My dream has always been to try and see as much of the world as I can. I have two specific goals when it comes to travel, and I am not sure which one is more achievable. One is to visit every Continent. So far I have only been to North America and Europe, so I have a very long way to go with this dream.

The second travel goal I have is to visit every major art museum in Europe. I've been to quite a few, but nowhere near the number I'd like. In fact, I really need to determine just how many there are. I love art, and spending time in a museum is just about my favorite way to spend a day.

Of course, there are so many more goals I have with regard to traveling: to go around the world on a single journey, to see as many of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites as I can, to visit all the greatest beaches, etc.

One of my fondest travel goals was fulfilled a few years back: to see the Acropolis in Greece. The other two places that are top of my list: Pyramids and Great Wall.

My vision is to make a real difference in the lives of our elderly in nursing homes. I envision a world where compassionate care it first and foremost in the minds and hearts of Nursing home staff and the owners of those homes. I envision every employee receiving a decent wage for quality work, and always having ample staff to permit the care that they WANT to deliver. Many homes, particularly privately owned, for-profit facilities function on the principle that all they have to deliver is the state required minimum staff, and those numbers are sorely lacking. I envision a world where no elder has to die alone, that all nursing assistants and nurses be required to attend annual sensitivity training to help them empathize with their charges, and that each elder which enters a nursing facility can honestly state the facility staff is an extension of their own family.

My dreams were all but shattered almost five years ago when I learned I had ALS/Lou Gehrig's Disease. All accounts told me I would probably only live 2-5 years, and end up in a wheelchair. I also lost my ability to speak. I had all kinds of dreams in the early stages, and promises from friends of help to realize those promises. Over the last five years, almost none of those promises came true, since most of my friends have found that they can't be around me, and all I get is a few people zipping through to drop off things, or write out a few bills, but then run off. My dream is to somehow be able to get up the money to pay people to go with me on short trips so that I can have a little enjoyment in the time I have left-- go to the theater, movies, gallery openings, etc. In the meantime, I dream of someone to come along to help me finish the book I am writing.

When I was younger, I had a different vision of life. I was pre-med and I thought that my goal in life was to help heal people through medicine. But the realities of the modern medical profession and the lack of compassion of some nurses, doctors and other hospital staff really made me rethink my priorities. Now, with the current economic crisis, I wonder if there is a way for me to to "heal" people with their financial ailments and to teach our future generations the simplicity and virtue of living within ones means and the value of saving. It is such a simple concept, long forgotten in this time of excess and entitlement. Perhaps I can start a nonprofit or something along the grass-roots level that can grow.

One project on my plate currently is a resource book for those 50 and over who are alone again starting over....it will include inspirational stories from this target market and address everything from getting organized, jumping back into the dating or social arena, dealing with health issues to everyday considerations. I am at the research and outline stage.....difficult to stay on course when the priority of making ends meet comes first. Perhaps I need a "vision board",eh?

cheers,gayle
I would welcome the opportunity to present my book idea to publishers of self help,or reference topics.

I dream of a time when the voices of Kentucky women are heard and their thoughts explored via playwriting. Kentucky is an interesting place to live. The culture in some areas is for women to be very submissive and to hold back their dreams, desires and opinions. This is where playwriting comes into play (pun intended), once the women begin to write plays their world changes, they find their voice and express their thoughts on the subject they choose to explore via plays.

So far I've led playwriting workshops for Kentucky women and I've been blessed to have been awarded 2 grants to lead year-long seminars for Kentucky women. One of the requirements of the seminar is that they each pass on what they learn to other Kentucky women.

My own vision is to have my play LUMPs (which deals with breast cancer) to be produced in all 50 states and internationally. So far it has been produced in 5 states, only 45 to go!

I also hope that my life makes a difference to at least one person in this world. I've been blessed to have many second chances with regards to my health. I'm like a darn lucky cat with way more than 9 lives. Each time is a reminder to commit the time I have to smile, laugh and love those around me.

My vision is to make the world a better place by helping to develop and transition into a new sort of economic system, as well as by engaging in a campaign to promote Acceptance, Kindness and Tolerance everywhere. Free education, no more hunger, illness, homelessness, drug addiction, or prostitution would go a long way to setting the sort of example that our fine nation once did. I have a dream... and will continue to work to bring this about until my dying breath or until my dream is realized: whichever comes first.

My dream is for my family to own our own home. I want to finally have something that is just ours and we don't have to worry about other people telling us what we can and cant do because it will be our land. I want to be able to afford to have our own home which at this point is impossible in our lives. I fear we never will be able to own our own home and I think that sets a horrible example for our children. No amount of saving is going to help when we just don't make enough money to have anything left after paying bills.

I have a vision or a dream of life being simpler or at least being able to deal with the common every day stress of life in a more manageable way. I invision myself serving those around me to not only help them be better at dealing but in the process - learning how to better deal myself.

I want to be able to understand those around me even when I do not agree with their views and choices. I want to be able to accept them the way they are - no questions ask.

Life is filled with trials that bring us up and down but I know that together we can all be better equipped to deal with those trials. It is when we separate ourselves from the rest that we fail, feeling lonely and lost. I envision a community center where those in my community can gather to lean on each other. Currently we have nowhere for teens and troubled individuals to seek the company of others. I have always said "If I ever win the lottery, I will build a community center". Of course I will never win the lottery because I do not believe in gambling. :)

I guess what I am saying is that I want to make a difference in other lives. I have found that when I am busy serving others - I forget my own problems and trials - if even for a moment. :)

My dream in life is to believe and have faith.

I am a mother to 4 very young children and it is very hard to raise children to grow up and be great honest hard working citizens. BUT, I believe and I have faith that my husband and I can do it! I believe that I can teach my children right from wrong.. I can teach them how to be hard working and caring and take care of their responsibilities.. Some people would say I am crazy, they say my strict parenting is going to backfire, well that may be so but I do not believe it will! I have Faith in my parenting and I have faith my kids will hear what I am saying and will do whats right in their life! I talk to my daughter who is 8 1/2 all the time about how she must go to college to earn a degree doing something she loves.. My daughter wants to be a vetenarian and a Doctor. She says she is going to college because she wants to build a ranch and have jumping horses and a 2 story home. She knows she can not get things like that in life if she is not responsible and go to college. She does not spend alot of time with her friends. I have her very occupied at home with her family and we enjoy doing things together! Family is forever and friends come and go and she sees that at her age already! I love that she would rather stay home then go to a friends! She is that way because the way we live and teach! My vision of my life and future is a wonderful vision and I cant wait to see my 4 kids succeed in life! I believe and I have Faith they can and will do it. So far So good! :)

My vision is rather simple. I want to be a published author one day. I have over 40 works in progress right now. All they need is editing and inspiration. I've been working over three years, writing these drafts, fine tuning them and getting advice. That is what drew to me to this site in the first place.
I write romance novels, because, it's truly what I love. They are fun to read, full of passion, romance, and most of all, happiness and love. But, of course the hero and heroine have to go through many obstacles to get there. In the end, it's like true life. You have to struggle, and go through hardships to see what you are made of.
And, in the end, if you work hard enough, fight hard enough, see your goal in front of you, then you can accomplish anything.
That's why I visit the site everyday. To further envision the future I want, and hope to have. That's why I have other sites, I visit, to further get my vision out there.
I've met so many wonderful people over the years.
The best one, I will never forget is meeting my favorite author, Julia Quinn.
She truly is a great example, of my dream realized.
That's who I strive to be like.
A humorous, wonderful woman, who tells stories that drag through all the emotions. From love, to sadness, to anger, and back again to heart warming ending.

My dream, my vision in life, is to be able to support my family as they deserve by doing something I love - writing. Right now we are just scraping by and my kids are having to do without. But they deserve so much more. They deserve yearbooks and school sweatshirts. They deserve clothes that fit. So, I'm working very hard at my craft with the hopes of becoming a published author. To that end, I have submitted one of my best short stories to the Writer's Digest Popular Fiction Awards with the hope of at least an Honorable mention in my category. That will guarantee publication. I am also participating in the National Novel Writing Month challenge; and come December, I will be editing in earnest. So, my dream is to support those I love the most by doing the thing I love best. I know it won't be easy, but I'm not afraid. I've got nothing to lose.

My mission is to have something that I've created live on after I die. I really want to have something survive myself. That's the only immortality humans can achieve - and I want to have made an impact on the world, if only in a small way. I am hoping that one of my stories will catch on, and be popular enough to continue in publication after I'm gone.

Ps: Would really LOVE this book - I requested it when they first announced these, but didn't hear back ={

My dream in life is to make sure my children have it better in this world then we did. I want to make sure that they are always safe and well fed. I also would love for this would to not have children that do not have parents to take care of them. I am hoping that one day people will be very nice and kind and always willing to help out with other people and make sure that if anyone has an issue that they are there to help them get through it

That being said...the one "material" vision I have is to one day open a hands-on children's museum geared for toddlers, preschool and Pre-K age groups. This is the one age group I have always been passionate about!

The only children's museums in our area are for older children...there is nothing to expand the minds of our younger children. I have witnessed that children learn quickly and benefit tremendously when they are active and involved, and having an affordable, fun, and exciting place to "play" and learn is just what we need in our area.

My dream for tomorrow will be that they approve my SSDI claim so that I can afford to continue to pay for the rent on the house in which I live in so I don't have to move out.

My dream vision for the day after that is to sell some art that will allow me to continue to pay for the rent so I don't have to move out of my house at the end of the month.

My dream vision for the rest of my life would be to no longer be physically disabled or at least no longer in unbearable pain and be able to make a living so I wouldn't have to worry about having to move out of my house ever again.

WRITE THE VISION

i sit in the rocker
retrieved from the refuse
by her reformed, reignited,
in love with me, her, her father,
granpa joe.
papa joe, papa joseph my children
will call him and their cries
will not rouse that anger,
rage, fury, muffed down
snuffed out by my tinkering
tonelike bells of love in my voice:
sweet succor has put out his fire.
now it is sometimes he
who delights in the 2 a.m. feedings
the way Noby’s little fingers
curl around his wrinkled own
in love, trust, curiousity,
a baby’s faith.

he runs up and down the halls
james junior, cowboy,
in hot pursuit.
they have matching six guns
chaps hats
blowing up barriers illuminating for him,
papa joe,
the freedom to play again.
it was the way Jim looked at me
first time reunited
he ceased worrying about me then
papa joe knew his youngest gal would be alright
this man a keeper.

we are halfway to our fourth child
Jim and I and Papa Joe makes three
reconstituted family in refurbished reignited regal house
royal in the way we love it.
The Beige Queen, bargain antique sofa of understated loveliness,
ruling the private sitting room
my red chair the color foci of my downstairs office
green pfaltzgraf dishes dominate the upstairs kitchen
giving american simplicity’s girth and lead
a run for its money.

the given bedspreads ruling
the king James and I share
my collected quilts for papa joe’s full size
the white and yellow crochets
for wrapping the babies in.

James Junior a delight with golden skin
Noby her great-grandma and my niece’s direct descendant
a Shepherd woman without doubt and dark skin.

nightly i wrap my arms
around James’ long fleshy limbs
delighting still, always,
in the look and lust and taste of him.

we have petitioned and kept Father Yacobi
at our beloved Saint John’s
Shyamalan came to the wedding
the first of my books as film
hitting screens the next year.

Spielberg and Quincy have taught us philanthropy
No one knows Barack has our ear
We soothe and counsel and comfort
our fearless leader.

Life is quiet at 2006 De Kalb Pike
for Jesus rules here
His Father having first word
in all that we declare.

We have bought Russ a house
of his wife steered him clear
Rocky, his daughter divine, resides with him there
he awaits grandchild pitter patter
little ones to hold near.

We sigh a lot in happiness
for even Tribble smiles now
contemplating wife number two
with conscience clear
cancer receded
violent son behind bars.

visit us soon
i, dr. ni, will pose my inner eye
to seize any fear
dislodge disarm destroy
any broiling boiling sneery veneer
Joseph will lay bare how to sing
via pen and paper
what your heart will see
now that your vision clears
and if you need medication
James and naturopathing Dr. Bucci
psychiatrist and herbalist
will keep your bloodstream thoughts pure.

come by

join us
your feet dancing up and down the halls
your soul a mist ascending
ascending to the home
we all deserve, desire, revere.

Some wonderful dreams here. I surprised myself with the thought that I'd relish the opportunity to pick the top five. One of my dreams would be to grant the dreams that are listed here. :-)

My dream is to be the Poet Laureate for the United States.

My vision began in 1977. I achieved it, but it has to be constantly maintained.

In 1977 I was in a car accident when a drunk driver hit me head on. After two months in a coma, although I regained consciousness, I couldn't do much of anything. So for the next few years, I relearned to function, i.e., I relearned to sit up, feed myself, brush my teeth, comb my hair, walk, etc. I'm now much better, but I'll always be handicapped.

When something like that happens to a person, they quickly learn who really loves them; everyone else disappears from the person's life. For me, that was the worse thing about becoming handicapped, not the physical disabilities but the mental ones.

So it was my vision to live my life as I would have if the accident had never happened and to NOT appear to others to be less than anyone else they knew.

As I said, I have mostly achieved that since 1977. But it isn't a vision I could achieve and then stop. I have to keep achieving this every day. Luckily, I can do that pretty easily because it's my way of life. I'm not conscious of doing it anymore.

But I've had another vision for the last few years. That is one for the people who love me to realize that this isn't hard for me anymore.

my vision is to get back to work, get out of debt, and lose weight - and still be able to keep my family happy, my home clean and raise my children well. This week has given me a glimpse of this life and I would need to reorganize a lot of the things I do, when I do them, and how long I have to do them. I need a whole new schedule. I need to see these goals as achievable. Right now I do not.

My dream life is simple. I don't care about money. I don't even care if I lose some weight. All I want is to be content. To accomplish that, I need a few things. First, I would like a family. I am working toward that goal right now. I've found my other half, but the little ones come later. I would like to know how to be a good parent so that my children can be as prosperous and well-adjusted as possible. I want them to be more successful than I have been. To be content, I also need to be doing something I love. I want to write. I'm not saying it needs to be a profession because that would be one really tall order. I would just like to be a successful writer with my name in print.

My dream is that I would wake up tomorrow with the body and face I had at 25 with all the wisdom and knowledge that I've attained since then, live my life for just a week with all that, and see how different my life might have been when I return to my present state a week later. At that time, I should have the opportunity to return to my life as it exists now or how it might have been with the changing opportunities of that week.

My dream in life is to raise both of my children to be loving, caring, respectful and successful! I want them to know that they can do ANYTHING they set their mind too and to never give up on their hopes and dreams! I just hope that I am able to give them all the keys they need to grow up and do wonderful things! No matter which path they choose! But more than anything else... My dream in life is for my children to be HAPPY!!!!

My dream in life is for everyone to stop and think before they do certain things! They need to realize that everything they do will impact a life in one way or another!

As a teenager and young adult, I had a series of good people in my life that encouraged me to dream and move forward in my life. I want to "pay-it-forward" to as many people as I possibly can.

From a business standpoint, I want to make enough money to start impacting things outside our household on a major level--a major reason why I value U.S. economic freedom. I want to adopt at least two children and then set up an organization where I can help other caring people who want children as well.

As the years go by, one’s frame of reference becomes altered, which tends to cause a modification of one’s goals, hopes and dreams. As young children, we have no concept of the work and sacrifices that will be required to achieve our goals and thus, our goals tend to be lofty. Ask a group of children what they want to be when they grow up and you’ll hear doctor, scientist, veterinarian, president, astronaut and other such lofty aspirations. As we reach our mid-teens, the degree of sacrifice that will be required becomes more evident. We begin to feel the cost in lost playtime and fun. We begin to wonder why we cannot simply be happy as an employee of McDonalds or the local retail store. Playtime and fun are preserved and we spend some delusional years in this mode, but at what cost? Often, sadly, by the time we realize that we made a wrong choice and the sacrifice that we avoided would have been well worth it, we are trapped in a life of unwanted, 9 to 5 servitude.

Several years ago, I suffered a stroke and once again, my goals were changed. My goal became, not being trapped in a broken body. I wanted to do the things that I used to do, like talk, brush my teeth, golf, shave, go fishing or just take a walk. Eventually, I settled into a set of abilities that I was fortunate enough to still have available and began to take stock of those abilities. I would have to limit my dreams to pursuits of the mind. This is the background for the vision that I am about to describe. One of the greatest things that I have learned about achieving my goals is that we must think not in terms of “I want to be …” but in terms of “I am …” because we become what we want to be by just doing the things that we want to do. So understand that though I speak of my vision for the future, I will speak in the present tense. You will have to do some homework if you want to figure out where I am on this road (Hint: check my website to see what I have achieved.)

I am an author who has written one book which is titled, “That’s My Story!” which can be seen at GHMonroe.com. I am working to become a master marketer because writing is only half the battle. There are sales goals to be met, which are always moving. Once a goal is met a new goal is set. As I work to become the best marketer that I can be, I have begun work on my next book. In between periods of work to meet these goals, I work every day towards my goal to become healthier. All of these goals dovetail with the two constant goals that I have always had and will always have which are to give my daughter all of the things, material, spiritual, moral and intellectual, that she will need in life; the other eternal goal is to make some lasting contribution to the world and help leave it a better place than how I found it.

My dream was always to help people. I got to do that in some ways in my short lifetime. I am 36 now and disabled, so some of my dreams have had to be put on hold. In 1994-1995 I was able to be of service as a missionary in the Los Angeles county area. I taught English as a second language to mainly Chinese immigrants. It was wonderful. In 1993 I graduated at the top of my class in paramedic school and became a medic for a private ambulance company. I returned to that job in 1996. At the end of 1996 I was working in the cardiac care unit at Mercy Hospital. Then in 2000 I went to Methodist Hospital to work in burn unit. I have helped my partner finish her bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
These goals were met...but I have so much more to give. I would love to mentor children (I cannot have my own biologically). I would love to write a book and give out free copies to readers. I would love working with Oprah Winfrey at her school in South Africa. I have dreams of world peace, although I know that will be a long journey to achieve. I just want to give of myself and I dream that there are ways that I can still do that.

My dream has gotten a little selfish lately. I used to dream of being able to change the world, to make a difference in people's lives. Now my dream has changed focus to be able to make a difference in my mother's life. As she fights Sjogren's Syndrome and depression, and deals with a feeding tube in her stomach, I find my dream aims at making her life better and more comfortable. Once she is squared away, I can broaden my scope again. Meanwhile, I'll use prayer as an avenue to care for the rest of the world.

My dream life would be to spend more quality time with my children and to be able to take them on trips now and then. Take them to places like museums and zoos. Yes I know those places are all over the place, but we do not have either of those within walking distance. I would love to take them to the Smithsonian Institutes in DC. That in itself is a life lesson that is something to be remembered for life. It is also a way of learning how to do things as a family together without using a computer or video games. I know you can do that at home with simpler things, but it would be nice to be able to take trips with them to teach them things and spend time with them.

My dream (one I've had for many years) is to open my own Mega (and I mean HUGE HUGE HUGE!!!)-Thrift Store and employ people who have Down Syndrome & other handicaps. I have experience in the thrift store business and know what it takes to make it successful. I have a name for the store, a tag line for advertising, and I've planned the store layout from front to back. I know the store colors for all the departments and for the entire store. I know how many employees I need/want. I've planned out incentives for encouraging my employees to achieve the most they can achieve in life. . . . not just as an employee in my business. I've thought of ways that my store, myself, and my employees could "Give Back" to our community. I've thought about and planned for insurance and wages for them. I can see their faces and their smiles. I've planned out each person's duties and responsibilities. I've planned out the pricing/tagging system for merchandise. I've planned out signs and sales and lighting and displays. I've designed the store fixtures and drawn out the floor plans for the entire building. I've planned out the traffic flow patterns in all the work areas and also on the sales floor. I've planned the daily flow of merchandise from the back doors to the front doors. I can see every inch of this huge mega- thrift store that I want to have. It's a dream that I dream about alot. It's a dream that I want to make into a reality. It's a dream that I know I could make into reality if I had the money to make it happen. It's a dream that I have a huge desire to make happen. This is my dream. But it so much more than a dream to me. To me, it's part of my soul that's waiting to be born. . . . be move from dream to reality. This is my dream.

My dream is to have a very modern art studio - one with white walls and a wooden floor with a fireplace in the middle and lots of windows. I am currently designing this studio and have purchased the land where I want to build it. It will be to feed my soul and if I do sell works, they will be to buy more art supplies. I am slowly saving various building supplies that I find as I want this to be built out of recycled materials and be very earth friendly. That's my dream and I'm sticking to it! Salud

My dream in life is to be able to write for a living, and actually make a living doing it. I want to share all the fascinating things I learn all the time. I want to travel and take pictures and show people who can't travel what amazing places are out there. I want to be able to dedicate all my working hours to writing and preparing to write. Then I want to relax in a house that reflects who I am and who my husband is, that I paid for with my writing, so that all he has to do is travel with me and drive and take pictures.

I've been waiting for me to be able to type this. Okay, here I go.
I have a dream that things will settle down and people will just learn to stop this sterotyping and learn to shut up and get along. I want people to be discliplined and not fat! Come on america, we shouldn't be this fat.
My other dream is to be able to make a huge difference. I want to be remebered, be able to know that people will remeber Kai. I am somebody, not just another chatpter in the the history books of the billions of people that have lived here. I want to remebered for the kind of person I am.
Those are my two dreams, for everything to be right with the world and to be remebered.

I have a rare skin condition called Necrobiosis Lipoidica. Although it is very rare, I belong to a support board of people from around the world who have this condition. My vision is to somehow find a doctor or a research group that will study those of us who have this condition and help us find a treatment or a cure.

It is really frustrating because none of my doctors know much about it or even want to deal with it. When I was in the hospital for my hysterectomy, most of the doctors and nurses had never seen or heard of the condition. There are a lot of us out there who would love to be part of a study if we could only find someone who cares about us and our condition.

I have a vision of someday getting my home office in order, with all the old junk mail opened and shredded and all of the important stuff that needs to be kept, put in files. I have visions of no more stacks of stuff and piles of papers. I have a vision of being able to find any piece of paper that I need, all neatly in a file where it belongs.

I suppose I could make more progress on this vision if I would get off my computer and just do it ! :)

My vision. Wow that is a wide topic. My vision includes many facets. I want to grow as an individual. I believe that in order for me to be a vehicle of good things for others, I need to work from the inside out on myself, first and foremost. I want to grow spiritually and emotionally. I want to be a woman of strength that I will teach my children to be independent, loving, giving, human beings with integrity and character. I want to be present for my family. I want to be a wife that lifts her husband up. I want to enjoy the blessings that have been given to me by God as I understand him. I want to be able to give to others not expecting anything in return. I want to be humble, tolerant, and honest. I want my heart to align with my creators. I want to be a person that will be remembered not for what I did, or who I knew but by the way that I lived in this lifetime.

One of my dreams is to be completely debt free. It's a dream that is always being worked on. My husband and I have a budget every month and are working to pay down our debt. It's a dream that's very hard to work on right now though due to our current extremely restricted financial situation. But I'm not going to give up on this dream because it's a very very important dream.

Princess Spanky Pants ~ The Real, Original, Heather T Nov 10, 2008, 5:59pm EST
My vision of the future is to get the kids through school, and to make sure they go to college. I feel that going to college is no longer an option, but a requirement, but I hope that the kids are able to handle the pressure, and enjoy it. I envision them being successful, not having to live pay check to pay check.

My vision of the future includes shedding our debt, and saving money, so that we are able to survive if something big happens to us. I will probably always be frugal, but there are so many things I wish we could do, that we don't have the money for yet.

My vision of the future includes at least one large family vacation. Maybe a trip across country, or to Washington DC, or even just a visit to tour the UP of Michigan. I want to give my children wonderful memories they'll cherish always.

My vision of the future includes us being happy, healthy, and safe.

You may have heard the saying, "Life is God's gift to you--what you do with it is your gift to God."

I want to live each day moving toward the point where my entire life's work is just helping other people--and if you help enough people, all the other aspects of success like money and more time with those you love ends up becoming a byproduct.

Gosh, at 47 years old, a question like that almost stumps me. For a long time, I no longer had any dreams left in my life since my health had gotten so bad but that has changed. My health, not perfect by any means, has improved and I have begun to enjoy life once again. I have begun to explore different venues in my life and I am enjoying them. A LOT! One of my biggest joys in life now would be my drawings.

I love to draw and I do it as often as possible. My favorite subject for drawing is horses. Now that I am 47 years old, I have given myself permission to be "horse obsessed." It's okay to adore horses and to draw pictures of them all the time. I have been looking for "how to draw" books to help me to improve my drawing skills. I do draw mostly with computer programs but I would like to explore other mediums as well.

So I would have to say that is my dream in life, mostly just to enjoy LIFE and all it has to offer. I want to do things that I enjoy such as drawing and perfecting my drawings. My vision is to be an artist who specializes in equine art and my vision also sees a real live horse for my very own someday.

My dream is to have a Coffee/bookstore in Arizona, an Earth friendly place, cozy and comfortable. A place of peace and discussion, for people of all races and all walks of life, talking about what they have read about. One does not have to literally travel to gain knowledge and share, and through sharing ideas and emotions, brought about by books and a good cup of coffee, peace and understanding can flow.

I want it to be full of growing things, in Earth colors. I see myself in long gauzy skirts, bandanna tops and sandals, my hair as free as the conversation going on, while old friends, neighbors, and travelers get together and chat. As the reputation for it's peaceful setting grows, and it would, I could expand to hold all who come there. I would want a book for all to sign, and leave a thought for everyone to read. I would want several projects going at once, for the poor, for medical research to save those we love with new found cures. A project started there for the rights of animals, and to save them. Our Mother Earth, and how to preserve her and the beauty she holds for all of us.

Just a place for all to be themselves, relax, write, talk, share and build on ideas to help the local area and the World. It only takes one idea, and those interested in that idea to make it work. Sort of "den of discovery" if you will, with our shoes or sandals off, and energy, positive only flowing every second., Most of all, letting the natural feelings of love for humanity, all humanity, to fill the hearts of all who come there to my "Store", and follow them when they leave, so the goodness that can come from people being together can carry on outside of my doors. Utopian? I don't think so. I already have the wall colors, the carpeting and wood floor, some earth picked out. I hope I achieve it, can sit and write in it, when not chatting with my customers, and spend my days smiling and sharing life. Keep your eyes and ears open. Maybe you will be dropping in someday. I feel that any vision becomes sensible and compelling only insofar as it reflects some larger, more encompassing vision of what is desirable in life. As Nietzsche notes, an academic discipline should "become life." To me, what is important in life is to come to know ourselves and the world in which we live -- to perceive their contours and to fathom it's depths -- so that we may come to revere life, and to engage its demands with sensitivity, intelligence and integrity.

I view life in these terms, and my vision is what lends shape to my more specific view of our natural world. Insofar as it is important in life to move toward knowing ourselves and our world, it is important to grapple with the question, "What it is to be a human being in the natural world?" To me, this is the central question. And my dream is to be able to impart a love of this natural world to others. That is why I went to Mexico as an exchange teaacher; so that I could teach the children to love the butterflies. As well as when I went to Costa Rica to teach the children there that we are connected through the beautiful song birds. For if children first learn to love something with all of there heart then they can encompass it within there own lives.

My dreams and visions of what I want for my life is to be the best wife and mother that I can be, and to have my husband and I financially independant. With the option that neither of us work unless we want to. But isn't that the hope of most people?

As far as visions for my life- to be the best wife and mother- I want to teach my children, to ensure they get the best educations possible, and to teach them to think for themselves. That is my one hope for my children. To be as educated as possible, and to be ready and willing to find the answers to the things that they don't know. I want to instill in them the joy and wonder of learning.

I'd love to have a book published, that's another dream of mine. To have a book published and share on at least one of the topics that I know very well, and hopefully help someone else with my words.

My dream in life is for all my kids to grow up and love one another, be great parents, and do great in the world. I have very high hopes for my kids and I know they can do it. I just have to get the point across to them.

I have had many dreams in my life - to open a Victorian TeaRoom, which I did and was successful (sold it 1 1/2 years ago).

Now I want to start a non-profit organization for at-risk youth with Asperger's, Learning disabilities, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and Tourette's syndrome (the disorders that my children have). The organization will increase access to the arts for at-risk youth age 16-19. I have been writing the Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, curriculum and marking plans/moving forward.

[Now we just need our home to sell, so we can buy the land we found ... build our new home & art studio (where we will hold artist retreats).]

Finally I want to have my non-fiction collection of personal essays about raising two children with special needs published, to help other parents know that they are not alone.
I plan for some of the proceeds of sales to go to the non-profit.
