The Greatest Presidential Stories Never Told
By Rick Beyer
Published by Harper Collins Publishers
As a history lover, I was immediately drawn to this book. It is filled with little know facts about Presidents of the United States. If you love history, learning new facts about historical heroes, you will love this book. I was amazed at the wonderful stories about presidents that I had not previously known. They were both entertaining and Interesting. This book has stories on President Lincoln, Washington, Jefferson as well as others. You will not want to put this book down until you are finished reading it so grab a soda and get cozy and begin your journey into the lives of the Presidents. You will smile, laugh and say “Wow I did not know that” while reading it. What happened on the Mayflower in 1620 that affected many peoples lives as well as three presidents? You can find the answer to this question as well as many more in book, The Greatest Presidential Stories Never Told.
Rick Beyer is not new to writing wonderful historical books. He has previously written “The Greatest Storied Never Told” as well as “The Greatest War Stories Never Told”. Rick is a lifelong history enthusiast as well as an award winning documentary producer for The History Channel. You can read more about this wonderful historical book on gather. Yes, Rick is a member and has written many articles.
The Greatest Stories Never Told series has great reviews:
“An old-fashioned sweetshop, full of tasty morsels” The Chicago Tribune
“Stories you haven’t heard but will delight in knowing” Denver Rocky Mountain News
“Just when we were certain that we knew everything about everything, Rick Beyer comes along and ruins it” The Army Times
I truly enjoyed this book. And recommend it to everyone who loves history. With story titles such as Teddy Bear, Mail Call, as well as my favorite, Man Overboard, you will not be bored. It was well written and easy to get drawn into. My opinion of these presidents will never be the same. Now I will think of these stories each time I hear their names.

Christine, move that book up in your pile! It isn't a book that takes days and days to read.
You really should purchase it as a gift. They will love it. It is so interesting from beginning to end. It is not very long either.
Christine,
I think you will love the book. It is very interesting. Not boring at all. I loved it as did my husband.
Rick,
That was my favorite story for many reasons. There were so many men who made such an impact on the world as well as the US that would not have otherwise been born. I am LDS so Joseph Smith had a major impact on my life.
This would be a great book to read while camping. It is interesting yet short. It does not take long to read.
I really think you will enjoy it.
Shannon,
You should read it. It is wonderful. I enjoyed it. I think you would too. :)
He has already written several articles. You should check them out. I put the link in my review.
You will have to post a review of your own when you finish the book. :)
It is a great book to add to your home library. I will loan you mine when we come down for Thanksgiving but you could also request it at your local library. If they don't have a copy, they will get one for you to read.
Maybe that would be a good Christmas gift for you.
I think you will love the book. Be sure to let me know how you liked it. :)
That is so cool that you are related to President Garfield! You will want to read this book for sure!
You are very welcome. I am sure you will enjoy it. You should share of the family stories that you know about him with us.
Shame on you for teasing that poor lady. :)
That is wonderful. Dont you just love those tid bits of information?
It was a good book. There is a interview scheduled for gather with Rick the author. Be sure to check it out. He is great at these interviews. I listened to one of his interviews tonight from 10 - 11 PM it was great!
LOL I can do that. I really enjoyed the interview last night.
Wow that would be really cool if this story involved some of your ancestors. Let me know after you read the book if your family was involved. :)
Guess what? I have one review copy and I've purchased five more because this is truly the kind of book where you can pick and choose parts to read with your family, depending on which page you pick, share with people who don't think they like history and it makes a great gift even for people who "think" they don't like to read. A book like this is addictive and nearly impossible to put down. Try to read just one page and stop. I sure couldn't! Neither could my husband!
