Messed up lyrics

Almost everyone sings - maybe in the shower, maybe while driving down the freeway, but we all do it.  The only problem (well, besides the fact that we might be off-key) is that we don't always know the words.  Many people make up their own lyrics, or hum a bit when they just don't know the lyrics.  When I was younger, my friend's sister used to sing "Shot through the heart and you're too lame" along with Bon Jovi who said "You're too blame."  And I am sure that I continue to massacre several songs. 

 

What messed up lyrics do you commit, or have you heard?

Well, not me, but someone I know messed up some newsboys lyrics...It says "tender like a burger in a microwave" but with the Australian accent....well....doesn't quite sound like burger and I've heard quite a few listeners question that old song

oh, yeah we all do it. when i was little the song "when a man loves a woman" i thought it was "when a man loves a walnut"...actually...just listen to it, it actually sounds that way

My little sister used to sing " I'm gonna make you ugly" to the Motown song I'm Gonna Make You Love Me.
I saw that article on yahoo! It was nice to get a couple of the ones they had on there cleared up!

There are a couple of songs my brother and I replace certain words with - not because we don't know the lyrics, but just to make it funny.

If I'm singing in the car to a song on a CD and I mess it up, I start the song over again.

Cecelia by Simon and Garfunkel. It's a classic dance song, but when I actually listened to it on the way home from college, I just about keeled over with laughter over the scandalous lyrics. :-)

My butcherings go all the way back to preschool and the favorite bible song for the young set Jesus loves me. I thought it was Jesus loves me this silo. Now, growing up in farm country, I couldn't begin to figure how a grain storage device fit into the whole picture of Jesus and Mary....
