My grandmother makes this every year. She makes a dozen batches giving them away to family & friends. There are only four ingredients and no extra sugar is needed.
One 12 ounce package semi-sweet chocolate chips
One 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1 1/4 Cup chopped, toasted nuts* (if you like them)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
First, grease a foil-lined brownie pan. (Usually an 8 inch square pan)
In a double boiler, melt chololate chips and milk. Stirring until smooth. Add nuts and vanilla.
(Optional Easy Microwave method:
Melt chips with milk on 50 percent power, 3 to 5 minutes. Stirring once while cooking. Stir in nuts and vanilla.)
Pour into pan and chill until set.
