1 loaf french bread cut or torn into cubes
3/4 cup sugar or 1 cup Splenda
1 pinch cinnamon
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 pinch nutmeg
1 qt Whole Cream
1/4 cup butter, melted
8 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup milk
3/4 cup sugar or 1 cup Splenda
1 pinch cinnamon
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 pinch nutmeg
1 qt Whole Cream
1/4 cup butter, melted
8 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup milk
Fill a baking pan or two with the bread cubes and sprinkle a small amount of sugar on top.
Use enough bread to come to the top of the pan. You can use more than one pan.
Stir remaining ingredients together, pour over the top of the bread and press lightly to help absorb the mixture.
Allow the bread to soak an hour or even overnight.
Bake in a 325° oven for about 40 minutes until just slightly golden brown around the edges.

Optional
You can top this with your favorite jam or make a whiskey sauce.
This bread pudding is sweet enough by itself to enjoy it without any toppings.
It up to you, I have done both & enjoyed it. My grandma used to make this and after many years it is still my favorite comfort food. (now my children and husband's favorite comfort food today)

I have two pans full of this recipe right now.
On one I have banana syrup. (what can I say, this is what I had in the frig)
One the other I will make a whiskey sauce.
I will have to start AFTER its all gone!
I haven't been around much so I am short on time.
I wanted to let you know I have been here and
seen your writing or photo. I wish I could stay longer
however trying to get to as many people as possible.
Thanks so much for sharing!
