It is steaming hot in South Florida today, but the chances for rain were 30 percent and I decided to take the chance. We hat a little rain shower this morning before we left the house, and right now it is 91F, but according to the weather people it feels like 101F.
After getting all three boys packed up, my husband dropped us of at a local park. Unfortunately the water area did not work today, but the boys and I still had a lot of fun.
We started out at the playground, where there were only a few families, and we stayed there until the camps started arriving with busload of kids after busload.

When the camp kids started to take over the playground, it was almost noon and we decided to find ourselves a great spot for a picnic.

We found a great little place in the shade under some huge trees and shielded by some hills. The boys ate their lunch very fast, and then they started rolling down the hills, playing soccer and climbing trees.

Emmett had his lunch as well, and afterward he loved watching the treetops.

Sky discovered a squirrel, and I heard him say "Do you want to be my friend?" Apparently, the squirrel wasn't all that friendly, as it ran off.

After a while playing in the shade we moved on to the lakefront, where they boys played with rocks, sticks and water.

We all enjoyed the breeze from the water,
and the boys sure liked getting messy.
Emmett especially enjoyed the breeze, and he was very comfy in his stroller.

We then discovered a great climbing tree, and the boys had a blast, while I did my best not to worry.

When we discovered a water duster, we all went to cool down.

At this point there were two smaller playgrounds for the boys to chose between, and they led the way. The played a little before we discovered another awesome climbing tree. I put the picnic blanket out in the shade, while the boys practiced their climbing skills.

After a while my husband called to ask where we were, and at that point he was already at the park, so we packed up and headed home to the nice cool air-conditioned apartment.
I had a bunch of homemade popsicles made out of juice, and the boys went outside to share it with our neighbor, who arrived home at the same time as us. It sure was a hot day in South Florida, but we enjoyed our time outside.

How did you spend your summer day? How hot is it in your part of the country?

I spent 3 hours this morning at Huntington Beach State Park. Got some great photos and video. You gotta see the video.
It's rainy at my house anyway, though, so we would have been hanging out inside regardless.
Today its 101 but I haven't found time to swim...supposed to be the same tomorrow and I know I will be in that pool!
I'm not ready for the long walks yet, so today was a real treat as my husband dropped us off and picked us up.
It rained all morning here, but this afternoon the sun popped out. We played outdoors in the swimming pool, and then we went out to eat this evening at Ponderosa. It was a nice day. The kids are now sitting at the kitchen table drawing with newly sharpened pencils for Maddie to go to kindergarten. They are practicing with the erasers. I just realized that I had never had them use pencils before now.
I just posted about our not-so-lovely weather!
