Scholastic StudyJams! is an online learning experience for kids in grades 3-6 that takes the most challenging math and science topics and explains them through animated videos, Karaoke songs, interactive tutorials, quizzes and more. Studies show that without ongoing learning activities over the summer, students lose up to two months of math and other subject knowledge during the summer break.

My oldest daughter, Raegan, will be in the 7th grade this year. I think her favorite class is probably social studies/history. She seems to take after me in that aspect, and she really loves learning about the past and other countries.
My middle son, Christian, will be in the 4th grade this year. He doesn't really have a favorite class so much as he seems to really enjoy all of them. He's an avid reader, though, so English is probably one of his strong suits, right next to Math class.
My youngest daughter, Gillian, will be in the 1st grade this year, so she hasn't grown an attachment to a subject, but rather, loves school in general. She gets upset if she can't go to school because of snow, or sickness, or vacation.
My daughter, who is going into 6th grade is dyslexic and has a tough time in school. Her reading and writing abilities are at least 2 grades below where they should be. Angela is on track for math...and doesn't mind math. Her favorite subjects are art and band. These are the subjects that Angela is on even ground with the rest of the kids her age.
My son, Chandler, is going to be in 2nd grade this year! He reads and does math at the 4th - 5th grade level! He's amazing with numbers and has been able to count to well over 1000 since he was 2 1/2 years old! At age 3, he could add, subtract and multiply. Math is hiw all time favorite subject. If it has to do with numbers, Chandler wants to do it!
Math is his favorite subject in school!
We use The Story of the World by Susan Wise Bauer as our primary history text but we always find internet sources, library books, or even shows on the History Channel to supplement the chapter we are studying. This year, fourth grade, will be our last year using The Story of the World since it is a four volume set meant to be used in grades one to four. I'll be looking for a new curriculum to use for 5th through 8th grade.
Her favorite history subject is Ancient Egypt. We have mummified chickens, built the Step Pyramid out of sugar cubes, and made clay models of the Sphinx, among other fun projects.
