TIP - HOW TO ADJUST FONT SIZE
A few members are experiencing smaller font on Gather since the upgrade. Font size was not intentionally changed and most members are not experiencing this. If you are - here are some suggestions:
Firefox browser: click on 'View' in the browser nav bar, then click on 'zoom'.
IE broswer: click on 'View' in the browser nav bar, then click on 'text size'.
In either browser, hold down the ctrl key and press + to increase font size or - to decrease font size.
If these tips don't solve the problem please contact us using the "Contact Support Form" so we can assist you.
Can something be done about that?
I don't really mind seeing the ads. But after that last expanding ad I clicked on by error - another site, it took 3 days to remove over 100 programs and I have adaware & spybot installed.
Have you tried switching to the New Hompage to see if you can get more posts per page??
It did reset to the old, but I didn't look to see yet if I could view it by posts. Let me check and get back to you!
I thought you may be interested in the comments on this post.
I have a question is there a way to organize the groups you post to? Likemsay keeping all freebie/coupon groups together for easier posting?
If not has Gather Staff thoguht of that?
This has been suggested many times before. The feature hasn't been ruled out, but I think we've been hesitant to implement such a tool for fear that it would make it easier for members to quickly spam unrelated groups with their content. On the other hand, having "group sets" would allow the responsible publisher to more efficiently target relevant groups. We may try this out sometime, but so far we just haven't been able to prioritize it. Thank you for the feedback though!
For me it would make it easier to get the content to the groups I want to put it in, because my hands are limited in what they do clicking is off sometimes and I click the wrong group.
Do you have any yuo can recommend?
Clicking to add, more than once is hard, that is why I post to fewer groups, espically when it comes to freebies and conpuons I would like for many people to benefit from this since many are having money issues.
It has come to my attention that pictures of human feces on Gather are against the Terms of Service.
Are all pictures of human feces verboten, regardless of how or where they are used or where they may fall on the Bristol Stool Scale?
How is Gather able to determine if pictures of feces are of the human variety? Are pictures of animal feces permitted?
And lastly, am I still allowed to use The Golden Comment Turd, or is all content of a scatological nature now verboten?
Thank you!
Okay, I'll bite. Yes, there was an incident recently - let's call it the Gather Turd Incident of 2009. A small panic ensued when someone left a picture of you-know-what in a comment reply to an ideological foe. Someone even commented that it looked like a hand giving flipping the middle finger.
Reminds me of cloud gazing. I wonder if 10 people would see 10 different objects in that... um, you-know-what.
In all seriousness, I'm not sure that there is any case where a picture of human feces would be acceptable on Gather. We look at each TOS report individually, so I guess if this happens again we'll cross that bridge then.
As you point out, some pictures of animal feces are perfectly benign - it's a part of studying nature, really. But even these should never be used as a way to insult or demean another Gather member. In the case of animals it's more of a judgment call.
If ever we can't tell the origin, we'll assume the worst.
Ooh...an expert!
Thanks, Chuck!
