Nope, it hasn't been done away with. You can find all of this now on your My Gather page. Once on that page scroll to the bottom of the left-hand column. Click "All of Gather Feed" for a feed of recent content from all across the site. Beneath that, you can click to view "Most Popular" and "Staff Picks."

A few members are experiencing smaller font on Gather since the upgrade. Font size was not intentionally changed and most members are not experiencing this. If you are - here are some suggestions:
Firefox browser: click on 'View' in the browser nav bar, then click on 'zoom'.
IE broswer: click on 'View' in the browser nav bar, then click on 'text size'.
Is it affecting the text of all Gather posts?
It it affecting all Gather text?
Is it happening on all pages for you?
For what it is worth, I find the new way to surf "recent photos" etc. more cumbersome and less pleasing to the eye.
Can you describe what you mean by "the link button doesn't highlight"? Are you referring to the hyperlink icon not changing in appearance when you move your mouse over it?
Also, are you having this trouble inserting links into comments, posts (articles), or both?
So, in short, the problem is happening both when I go to post and when I try to add a link in a comment. It's not working at all.
We used to have it set in the more usual way that you describe in commenting, but the text editing software that allowed that feature caused a lot of glitches when people commented, so it was necessary to change it to this method.
Examples: Different font sizes.
Having to switch between to different pages, to see different things.
The drop-down menu isn't needed, we did fine without it. Truly.
And it takes longer to load.
I cannot comment on the surf recent photo's as yet, because I haven't found it.
Just having to keep looking for things when you're used to just doing them without thinking, makes things harder, or more involved and wastes time on here.
Just my 2 cents or a few more.
One more--newer members that we could easily help as we'd been here longer, are lost. Since a lot of the time now, we're pretty lost ourselves, it makes it harder for us to help them. That's one huge disadvantage, because many of us enjoy helping newer members.
Thank you for the feedback. Here's some of mine:
- The font size change that some people see was not an intended change. Can you please send me a screen shot of what this looks like?
- If you're talking about the recent posts for all of Gather, you'll need to use the new-style My Gather page to access that list (although you are not required to set it as your default view). When looking at the new My Gather page, near the bottom of the left-hand column click "All of Gather Feed." Then use the check boxes at the top of the feed to view only photos.
- New members are lost? Have you seen evidence of this since the upgrade?
Can you tell me where it is and how to make it work to post new writing? I see the category, but there's no way to click on it. Thanks.

I can't seem to get anyone to give me more information on this!
On my PC, though (with Firefox), the banner with info and links about the new My Gather page overlaps my dashboard (on classic view) and looks hideous. If I adjust the view size, it makes the banner fit properly, but the font gets too small and the comment boxes look weird. My monitor is set to a display resolution of 1024×768. If you want screenshots, let me know.
What is the optimum browser width?
I went back to the posts where the font was so small I could not read it and it seems to have fixed itself. I can't even find it now to send you a link. Sorry
