First question: How many people have "moderator" status in your group? I noticed that as both owner and moderator I have been able to post things to my groups without having to approve them. This, apparently was a change they made several months ago.
I've noticed that in one of my groups that I wasn't paying attention to, a post I made had gone straight through without moderation.
Was the group set to 'unmoderated' at any point in time?
If so, then all members joining your group while it had this setting will STILL have this ability. Changing your group to moderated will only affect members that join your group after this change is made.
To correct this problem, you will need to update the member settings for each member individually.

Actually this is how groups worked before the Lennon upgrade. As of now, if you alter your overall group settings between "moderated" and "automatic" (or vice versa), it will change the settings for ALL existing group members.
Yep, Erik you ROCK!
Thanks for the fix information... Its techs like you that make my world happy.. Thank you!
oh Yuck, re Kevin's solution :-( that will be time consuming, but at least there is a way to correct it!
Yeah, what a pain. I wish Gather would fix the other issues moderators are having with groups since the upgrade.
I hope the advice above helps. By the way...
I have an unmoderated group, and sometimes I have to approve a photo or article. This is rare and seems random to me.
It was set to unmoderate a few months back, and that could be the issue. The material that is comming threw is by a member that had become a member when it was unmoderated.
So how do I update the member settings??
AND is there any quick way to deleat multiple photo posts??
There's not really a "delete multiple photos" feature on Gather; however, when you delete a photo album, you have the option of removing all photos within the album at the same time.
As for your unsorted photos, the quickest way to remove them is to go to your photos page and click "organize photos." When viewing "other photos," just click and drag each one that you want to delete to the trash bin over to the left.
T Cheri,
What Erik said above should be correct. Since you say that your group used to be unmoderated, if you changed the setting to moderated prior to the recent upgrade then anyone who had joined the group while it was set to unmoderated had their privileges grandfathered in, so to speak. Now, if you change the overall setting for the group, it should take effect for all members.
Try changing the setting to "automatic," save the settings, then change it back to "moderated" and resave. This should do the trick.
And, you still have the ability to adjust individual member settings after you make a group setting change like that. Just click the "manage members" link in the gray group control box on the right, and search for the member whose settings you wish to adjust.
Yay! ...I'm glad that this glitch was finally resolved. It was a very aggravating problem for many group owners.
I wish Gather would have informed members of this change however.
I'll amend my instructions to reset/resave global group settings to ensure that all member privileges are affected.
Thanks Chuck!
Thanks chuck, I didnt know about the manage members feature.. Thats pretty sweet!
