About a month ago my Gather account password suddenly stopped working. I tried several times just to make sure, but could not gain access to my account. As soon as I was sure I couldn't get in with my password, I went to the "lost password" page and requested an email with a temporary password. No email arrived in my mailbox.
I tried emptying my email spam folder and trash folder, and changing my filter settings so that anything with "gather" in the sender name would be directed to my inbox, then using the email request function again, but still could not get an email from gather.
My mom was able to use the same function with her account, and got her temporary password instantly in her gmail account. The only difference is that I have Yahoo listed as my primary email with Gather. There was never any indication from Gather that the site does not work with Yahoo.
Being unable to use the password recovery system, I next sent a message to Gather Support. That message was sent on 1/19/09. I have never received a reply. On 2/8/09 I sent another message, to which I have also not received any reply. To date, I have been without access to my gather account, with my original photography (images of my family and friends along with my artistic work), images of me, and some of my original writing, for nearly a month.
I need to know how to get a temporary password for my account so that I can get back to gathering.
