I'm gonna get it

I have moving and rearranging things around the house.  Cleaning and organizing.  It's a job but I'm gonna get it.

In September of 06 we packed everything up and stored away in our storage semi trailer.  We were moving.  Not just moving down the street, but way out to Missouri.  We had a buyer for our property here in Florida and we had a house and property that we were about to buy in Missouri.

In November our buyer here in Florida - well - the deal fell through.  He couldn't come up with the money.  We stopped everything.  We left everything packed up.  We were very depressed about the whole situation.  We thought - well - we managed to live without the stuff that's in storage for those couple of months, we may as well just leave it packed up.  I'm talking dishes, pots, pans, jeans, shorts, shoes, shirts, pictures and on and on.

I / we have now decided that it's time that we either use that stuff or get rid of it.  Most of it we will use.  It's going to take me weeks to get it all unpacked and get this house organized.

I am bound and determined that I will get it done.

I sympathize with you. My sister is dealing with a similar situation when the deal for the sale of her house fell through.

yes you will get it done! might be a good time to get rid of some of those things, now that you know you can live without them. i recommend to everyone that freecycle.org is a place to list stuff you want to give to someone who needs it.

Maybe it will be a good time to cull the stuff you haven't really missed. Moving--or pretending to be moving--was always a good incentive for me....

Hang in there........it sounds like a big job..........but you can take it a little at a time. One box here and one box there. It all sounds exciting to me (I know, I'm a little wierd)! I would be getting rid of all the treasures that I'm not going to need and I would have a massive yard sale! And then go buy myself and my husband something that we have been needing for a while!

I live in Missouri..........have all my life.........but now I'm wishing that I was in Florida where it might be a little warmer during the winter months!!

Sometimes it is so nice to start fresh ;o). We move every year so my hubby says that when we do get a house that we better like everything about it LOL! ;o)

Thank you all for your well wishes and your support. Sometimes I sit on the floor going through a box and more than half of it gets moved to another box. At least I am making a little progress.

I know the feeling, I had to move my things from Moms house that have been stored there for years. They are still in boxes for months now, I wonder do I really need this stuff. Have A. Happy New Year!

That definitely stink for sure, so disappointing. But, you are right, didn't need it then, probably don't now, it is so freeing to downscale/simplify. Should be fun to have a bit of a sale, get a few extra bucks, do some donating to those that need, and anything you find you just have to keep, it will be like getting something new!!
