Untrimming the tree

I decided today that it was time for the tree to come down. I can only handle so much of untidyness. Why is it me that gets the honor of taking down and packing all of the Christmas items? It's fun to put it all up and very festive. But no one wants the dirty deed of cleaning up. Ok - I don't usually vent too much here but I just felt compelled to do it today. Maybe it's because I'm tired. Maybe because I just can't stand the boxes and junk anymore. I don't know.

As I was taking the ornaments off the tree, I was fine. Even with the boys underfoot. When I got to the lights - yeah - oh boy! What a tangled web we wove. I finally got them all off of the tree and now there are pine needles all over the place. Go figure. LOL Oh well, at least I am that far ahead of getting it all done.

I'm thinking its time for our tree to come down too but really I would like to take the whole thing Christmas ornaments and all and chunk it all in the trash since my day is already crappy.

I think puttin up the tree is soooooooooo much more fun than taking it down. I always have the Christmas CD's and candles going when I'm putting the tree up in the anticipation of Christmas. Plus it just looks pretty with all the pretty gifts under the tree.
Then after Christmas it looks like a big pile of mess under the tree, and I'm like you.......I like for things to be neat/tidy......maybe I have a little OCD. I just had surgery so I can't do much right now. So I guess I will just have to put a few things away a little at a time.
I kind of like to keep my tree up until after the new year. But the mess underneath it is kind of driving me nuts!

Wow, you don't waste any time! It looks so empty when we take the tree back down. I wait till New Year's Day generally.

We put up the tree in our living room, which is our home school classroom - I had to get things back in order. LOL

HUH??? You're *kidding*! Advent has barely ended and the 12-day Christmas season has just begun!!! My tree just went up on Christmas Eve and will stay up until Epiphany. We have been enjoying the preparatory season of Advent and only now is it time to begin enjoying the festivities of Chriistmas.

The taking-down and dragging it all upstairs to store it actually influenced how much I decorated this year. I have been known to have multiple trees and decos in every room....not this year. Just a few special things out, one main tree (OK, a little second one in the DR--but not ornaments, just lights and garland). Gave the rest of the stuff a rest this year....

Yes the tree has been taken down. Now to put away all the stuff for the tree. I'll get it, I just know I will.
