Hi kim, we are connected already. A good way to find more connections is - as you are commenting on photos and articles, look at the other comments and if you see some you like, click on the blue name and check out what they have written and photos they have posted. If you like what you see, comment on the ones you like, (according to the TOS and Community Guidelines you must do this first) and then request a connection. Be sure to tell them why you would like to be connected. Also, the front page of Gather is a good place to find people with the same interests as you. I'm sure in no time at all you will have many new connections. There are a lot of new people joining every day.
Another good way is to join groups. Here you will meet a lot of people on Gather with the same interests.
