Whew the last two weeks have been grueling. Four of my five kids came down with strep throat, Not all at once but of course they had to get it one by one and so my mom or husband are calling me near the end of my work day to pick up yet another prescrption at Wally World, aka Wal-mart.
I have to get up at 4:30 a.m to get ready for work and be at work by 6:00. Get off work at 5:30. Had to do shopping for groceries and two of my girls were getting ready for church camp so had to get several items for their trip to pack. Including new water shoes, flashlight, toiletries and things.
My mom bless her has been a big help with the kids when I am work. I am also coming home or tried to twice to work on my boat to get it water worthy. Hubby and I are getting it done this weekend. I have Saturday-Monday off. Got my three youngest with us and they are soaking up mommy time as we work togather and take a break to play. They help in the boat too.
My little guy this week somehow managed to climb up on our cabin roof and fell off, scraped and bruised. Then much crying and poor little guy was more in shock than anything but does have some bruises and bumps He is a tough cookie. I was not home and daddy thought he was playing in the play area but he heard a screech and thud. Our six year old was there too and instead of telling daddy Gerrin was climbing on the cabin roof she was helping him get up there my husband found out. He as not happy with her either and she got a good talking to as well.
That same week. My husband was working on unloading one of our pick ups and our son was playing and suddenly he was missing. My husband stopped what he was doing to find where he had got off too. Well he had found the keys to the moped one of the girls left down. Knew it was in the shed and so he simply inserted the key and turned it on. He thinks he can be a big person and do what daddy does.
The moped head however was anchored and up on a block as it had one wheel off needing fixed. So he couldn't do anything but turn it on. Daddy was very upset with him and totally shocked he knew how to turn the key on. He had a serious talk with him that week about two things. One little boys cannot fly from roof tops, and two little boys cannot ride or drive mopeds or cars and truck.
Sure hope it sinks in. He is going to be three in October. 3 going on 25. Hubby realized our little guy is getting too big for his britches and needs much closer supervison and so now understands why I prefer we have my mom watch him when hubby gets busy with things. So unless we are both home Gerrin is going to stay at my moms place. If hubby goes to town or something then he picks up one or more of the kids, taking turns to spend time with them. I do the same thing take one or two of the kids with me when I go in to town and they take turns.
My brother and parents took all the kids twice down to town to swim which was nice for them as it was really hot a couple of days. That was after they got well from the strep throat.
Then two of the kids go yellow jacket stung. danged bugs just sting for no good reason. They just land and sting. One was hanging clothes on the line the other was just sitting down and playing. They are mean this year. Hubby has traps and trying to find their nests to destroy some of them. We have figured out there are at least 5 seperate nests somewhere near us. Within a mile of us.
Hubby has to have medication if he gets stung as he cannot breathe so doc gave him three shots of the meds he needs as he cannot get to the hospital fast enough. We live 20 miles out. Doc said to get in and get more as need to keep three vials on hand at all times. He has to get the shot withing 2-3 minutes of getting stung. So we keep them in our first aid kit and one in the car one all the time.
So it was a rough couple of weeks. But my oldest girls off to camp now. My mom gets a three day break and she needs it. We are spending time with the three younger kids and doing things I want to get done. Or trying too and will as long as my FIL leaves us alone. He is a pain in the rear. Wants things done on his time and schedule and it is like NO, we have our own life hello, go away your holding us up.
I think this next week is going to be better, Everyone is well again too and I even helped my brother go out with the four oldest kids and we picked huckleberries and sold 11 gallons and got $690 for them and still have 7 gallons left or I guess six now as mom and dad have another sold. So add $50 to that.
We are all a bit disappointed we could not get beach campsite reservations but talking to my younger brother we are going to pool togather for next summer and rent a house for about four or five days. So we are just going to go camping near a lake the 17th-20th of August.
I hope to have a bit more time to get on here and get more active. I need to get things off my camera and load some photos to groups.
I am going to be doing some singing more soon too.
I thought about going to school again this fall and get my last AA in forestry but might wait until winter quarter when I am not working. Well got to get back out and help hubby with the boat. Sorry if I am so boring. Just super busy mom and hoping life slows down a bit so I can have more time here and for other things I would rather be doing.

Sounds like you all are happy and healthy - Enjoy!
Shan, Ray, the kids and I just got back from a trip to the coast where we celebrated the 4th birthday of Shawn's little girl. In 2 weeks, I am heading to Oregon for a whole week's vacation. Can't wait. Will stay 2 nights in Seaside and 4 nights at Cannon Beach. I'm going to sit on the beach and read.
Sort of like watching all the cars zip by on the freeway...
It was very interesting though, and it sure wasn't boring...
Count your blessings...you could have had twins...
Good article!
