Shooken and Showered and NO BERRIES!

Arrrggh!   Well my son had this big bright idea to take the four wheeler and trailer up the way on our property.   Where he thought there should be berries.   And there should have been as there are lots of huckleberry bushes, but NOT ONE danged berry on any of them.     Maybe cause there is no bees polluinating the flowers??????   

Anyway it is a good 5 mile hike in and mostly up hill.   We need to go up with machete and clippers and cut back a lot of brush one of these days.

  Well I walked for about a mile and a half with four of the kids.  My son had gone on ahead with three others and hubby finally caught up with the four wheeler and trailer with the power saw to cut out a big tree that had fallen across the road.   Son had tried to go up yesterday and found the way blocked.  

The kids and I climbed in the wagon.   And hubby seemed to hit every rough spot and bump.  OUCH! I was being shaken and rattled all over the place, ooomph, ouch, the kids thought it was fun and laughed.  But my old bones were not liking it much and  I think I would rather have been walking.  

Then he goes through some thick brush growing over the trail, lots of it for a quarter of a mile.   We had thunder showers all last night so it was wet.  UGH!  I was not particularly happy to be getting a cold shower this morning.  

We got shook and showered for about 1.5 more miles and came to the tree and hubby cut it out of the way.   I did not feel like riding the last mile and half even if up hill I had enought shaking up already and we wet.  

So I walked up hill ugh. steeper than I thought.  Made it everyone else was ahead of me except Halona who came back to walk with me.   I just got there and son said.  NO BERRIES.   GRRRR!,   Well I walked most the way back at least it was down hill and rode a bit once hubby was past the canopy of wet brush.  

Got home at 1:30 kids and son ate lunch, adminstereed the meds.   All are feeling much better,  But have to take the meds til gone anyway.   Anyway I semi dried out on the walk back and now son and four older childen went elsewhere to find berries to pick.  

A place he scouted out last week and might be a few he said enough for 3 gallons maybe.   So three youngest are here with me and hubby and  they are playing.   I feel all nasty, shooken and showered with rain drops and tree goop and goobers.    Going to go and take a real shower soon as the three little ones down for a nap which is going to be in about 15 minutes.  

It was a pretty walk and though overcast and threatening rain still we didn't get any which was good.  Lots of flowers and saw some turkeys with chicks and a doe and fawn.    So that was nice.  

The walk back was easier if long.   Glad I am back though I sure got my exercise in today,  Will most likely be sore tomorrow.     Okay be back in a few, time for a nice hot shower not one from rainstorm.
