An ode to pings
This is in response to Kevin, the site wizard's comment that pings are going to be limited from now on, because of spam!
Pings you were here for me.
Pings you set me free to express my kind words, or pity.
Pings kept me busy with a quick note, or songs that I wrote.
Pings have such a lovely ring.
But, now a certain social site wants to limit my creativity.
It wants to steal my Happy birthdays,
My have a lovely day.
My, thanks for a friend request.
The way I hold my breath.
A kind comment for how the day is spent.
Or what to wear with my pearls and faded wash jeans.
Pings, oh, pings, why don’t you come back to me?
Why do you have to be so limited?
Whatever did I do, to set you free?
Was it too much, of see my posts, photos, or videos?
Or was it because of some spam about, how you can see my jams?
Or my candles fit to blow out?
Or gout?
Or spring fashion?
Oh, dear! I don’t know!
Pings come back!!

It's unofficial, of course, but, it explains why it takes so long for me to post one now.
Well, ping, ping, pong, and ping a ding, ding, to you, Pete!
You go girl, Ann! I agree!
Yep, it's time for the black icons to come out again.
Great poem about pings. I will miss them.
NOTE: You can still send pings, and send as many of them as you want. There is simply a restriction on how many you can send over a specified period of time. Once you get the hang of it, you won't even notice.
Notable in Wednesday Writing Essentials.
Kevin- that sounds interesting, we shall see.
And, mine were limited this afternoon, Elaine.
Nope, Joel, they just won't be pinging you as often. Thanks for coming by.
You can still ping Lisa, just not as much, sigh. Thanks for stopping in.
Oh, no Tracy! I know what you mean. So sad! Te he!
I haven't received any spam in my pings, Shelbia, just one message, that cost me one of my friends. But, that's why I thought, they put, "This user is approving pings before they appear"
Thanks for the comment, Shelbia.
They are, alas, still here, Denise. It just won't be as fun anymore. Thanks for the comment.
I know you can still send pings, Kevin, but, thanks for clarifying for those who don't know.
Why they limited pings, I don't know. That's why you we had, approval of pings, at least I had thought so.
Kathryn, I've found that we can ping our friends at once, four times. Then, you have to leave the pings area, and come back again minutes later.
Thanks for the noting my article!
Thanks Lisa, I love pings!! I hope they see the error of their ways.
I loved your creativity in this!
Thanks, I'm very flexible this way. I write stories, and now poems again!
I don't know, Janet. Another great question. Thanks for your opinion.
I will Lee! Right now! Thanks.
And, you too Andrea.
Good descriptive poem, Angela. I love the funny stylishness of it.
I love pings, but alas, they don't love me. I'm on dial-up and it can take up to 10 minutes to download a graphic on a ping. So I was forced to go to "no pings."
