I would hate to have either of the candidates show up at my house ..... the house would probably be a mess, with toys all over the place and carpets that could use a good scrubbing ........ and there would be camera crews that came with the candidate and would get it all on film ........ YIKES ..... how embarassing ....

other than that ....... Obama would be welcomed ....... but McCain and company could go get bent ..... anyone who tries to control and influence people through fear is not welcome to step one foot inside MY home ..... regardless of how messy it "might" be if he came knocking ..... what little respect I may once have had for McCain is gone ..... and he can just go along with it ....

You know I wouldn't know what I would do if a candidate came a knocking at my door, I'm sure the candidates don't want to meet the little people like me, and hear my concerns,

But you know for sure I would ask Obama to look me in the eye and tell me that he is not a Muslim, or of the Muslim Faith........

I would ask him to look me in the eye and tell me that he was a citizen of only one country and ask him to show me his birth certificate...

I can't belive that poeple still think Obama is a Muslim or a citizen of another country. He is a United States Senator. I think it requires citizenship. I would talk to either candidate. I would like to know more specifics about their plans.

Mari, makes me wonder why you would ask a citizen of the U.S. for his birth certificate. As for being Muslim gee then all the hooraw about Rev. Wright was just a front?

My house is always in a mess, I'm a bachelor and my cat could careless what it looks like as long as I feed her. I would expect Obama to answer any question I did ask with intelligence and as for McCain would probably get one of his weird smiles and no answer or several that still would not mean anything to me.

First of all, let me clear it up for you, Obama is not a Muslim, he is a Christian! Second, yes, he is a US citizen. He was born in Hawaii. The only reason he lived in Indonesia is because his mother brought him there as a little boy.

As for the questions, I would ask John McCain why he changed so much during his campaign? I liked the old John McCain before the Rove-like handlers got ahold of his campaign and turned it into a smear-fest.

I would ask Obama what he could do to limit the influence of big corporations on our government, and specifically, if he intends to pursue campaign finance reform once he's president? (One of the few issues I agree with McCain about.)

I am still flabbergasted about the Muslim question. Maybe Obama is going to start having to wear a big cross around his neck just like he has to now wear a flag pin so that every one knows he's patriotic.

If Obama showed up on my doorstep, I would invite him in and feed him. I would let him put his feet up and relax for a few minutes. I would make my home his own, for the few moments he could spare. In other words, I would treat him as one of the family.

I wouldn't worry about McCain knocking on my door, as the homes in my neighborhood sell for less than a million bucks. Never happen.

I would be stunned if any of the candidates knocked on my door!

K.S. your response was so funny! I have toys everywhere too! If McCain came to my door, I would take him door to door of my mostly elderly neighborhood and have him explain to them why he wants to cut $1 trillion from Medicare.

I'm loving the answers, folks. But some of you aren't answering the questions. (See, I would be a good debate moderator.)

I know if Obama came down to our neighborhood, he would be mobbed, but in a good way. There would be a lot of joy around his visit.

I do believe McCain would get run out of the neighborhood and on his way out, people would point out all the houses that are empty because of the sub-prime lending predators.

I would have to ask Obama about funding education and the arts. I know he wants to support both, but I'd have to ask if there is going to be some relief for those who are struggling to pay off student loans.

I'd have to ask McCain what all his experience proves. Why has he been out campaigning if he knows how to fix everything? If he brought Ms. Moosey along, and he'd probably do that in this area because people do have guns here, I'd ask her who the hell she thinks she is to be trying to force me to live up to her religion's ideals. Then I'd turn my little Chowwolf loose on her. I don't believe Moosewoman would be able to move fast enough.

What happened to separation of state and church???? Who cares what religion he is???? I don't. I mean good grief Gertie John McCain could look me in the face and tell me he goes to church every day does that mean I am going to vote for him.... uh no! The same with Obama, I don't care what they do as far as their spiritual enlightenment. I don't think that precludes them to be any type of leader, but that is me.

I would ask each of them about the issues. I think Obama would be more forthright than McCain and that is why he is getting my vote. I don't automatically pick one based on what party they represent. I look at them as a person and Obama speaks to me much louder and clearer than McCain.

If McCain showed up at my door, I would do the shame on you and are you crazy or do you really believe that people are stupid enough to believe the lies you and you're campaign have been spewing. For example the lie that Obama isn't a citizen and that he's a Muslim - what is wrong with you? Oh and Ms. Priss as VP, please Mary!

I would be very excited to see Obama! I would ask him personally where he stands on all important issues, just to get it from his own mouth, so to speak.
And, McCain, I would shut the door in his face. My opinion of him, is that he is way too phony.

I would be estactic if Obama showed up at my door, but following that, probably tongue-tied. If McCain showed up at my door, I would close it in his face.

Angela and Cheri, you are much more polite when it comes to McCain than I would be. He would be hoping for deafness to set in if I ever got his ear.

And Cheri, after having seen Obama in person, I assure you would not be tongue tied for long. He's awesome but I totally felt if I had the chance, I would have no trouble speaking to him. He's got an air of calmness that is reassuring.

The O man, MJ. McCain would not even be welcome in my house and I have no moose for Ms. Eye Candy to shoot.

Great question, MJ! I'd be thrilled to death if Obama knocked on my door, but I'd probably be in so much shock I wouldn't know what to say! LOL! If McCain knocked I'd probably slam the door in his face!

First I'd go grab my camera and take as many pics as they let me.....lol

Then I ask Obama what he has done to protect himself from all the "crazies" that the RNC smear and terrorist campaign has riled up!

If it was McCain....I ask him how he justifies all the terrorist rhetoric and unAmerican propaganda he has been spreading and doesn't he SEE how really awful it makes him look to campaign like this?

Obama is welcome to come in and hang, McCain i would probably shut the door on.

If it was Mccain, I would pretend like I wasn't home or maybe not. I think maybe instead I make him sit and look over all my bills and bank accounts as well as the letters stating the loss of insurance and the subsequent medical bills. I doubt it would help, but I would show him all the physical reasons why I felt the need to vote democrat. Obama I would just hug and thank for keeping my needs in mind.

What ever questions I have for both I would preface it with, "Can you answer the question without naming or blaming the other candidate or other party?" It seems every answer begins with "The other guy did this or didn't do that". Just tell me about you.

I'd be polite but tell them both I won't vote for them. They both represent the bi-partisanship that got us in our long economic/political decline. The only real difference is that they have slightly different skin tones...
