Have I ever mentioned how much I hate technology sometimes? I have had a "big day" today, since I went to get my money from the bank and then went shopping at Meijer. Admittedly, I use a cart at the store, but when I bought lunch for my landlord, who did the driving, I didn't, and there were not any handicap spots open at Meijer either. I ended up going from one side of the store to the other to get everything I needed, and on the way to the exit, my scooter died and wouldn't budge. Being somewhat stubborn, I didn't want to inconvenience anybody to get another cart when I was headed out anyway (my landlord had put all the bags into a regular cart and was taking it out to the truck) so I got up, told them they needed to get it charged, and walked to the doors. I should have laid down when I got home, but I am trying to get some semblance of normal hours again, so I didn't. I just started doing my homework.
We got the coupons for the digital converter boxes for our TVs, which I purchased while at the store. My son was so happy when he came home, since there are channels we cannot get here. He started with the TV in my room, which also had an antenna that was new. He had it set up in 10 minutes and went to work on the slightly more complicated set up in the living room. I moved into my room to work on my homework and watch some TV. I was playing with the channels when I noticed the screen was dark on the sides. Silly me, I tried to fix it. My poor son has spent the last hour trying to get it to reset so he can fix it. He called the company's 800 number. They said if leaving it unplugged for at least 5 minutes doesn't work then he will have to return the unit to get it replaced with a new one. He has spent most of that time threatening to beat me if I ever try to fix anything again...lol
I guess I will be leaving the TV stuff alone from now on. LOL
On the bright side, I did want to share some good news with you all. My son, Michael, has been looking for a job in the field of auto body work since he came home from school in 2006. He started a new job at MAACO Friday, and has been able to quit his job at Meijer. He has been so much happier since he got that job. I started a class in History on Monday, and I am looking forward to getting to comment more too. I hope you all have a good day!

Good luck with your class and congratulations to your son on the new job.
Sometimes we don't go in the van so we don't have my scooter so I have to use the store scooter and I must say, the store people are great about getting me another one. I can barely walk around my house... I have to go from room to room from chair to chair...my left leg has gotten worse and the fibro and I think I need to go see the surgeon again for that leg. When I get out of the car I get electricity and pain from the metal bar down into my toes so I think something is hitting the nerve.
Good that you got out to the store!
Congrats to michael on the new job.
Sharon, I learned about computers because I didn't have anyone to ask, and I did a lot of looking and reading and learning the hard way. Blessings
Thank you Steph-in-NE

I have been excited and scared about returning to school. Finding out your professor is younger then you are can be a bit depressing. LOL Thank you for commenting, and I am so happy for my son as well. I am hoping going back to school will lead to the direct my life needs to go now. Blessings!
Thanks Priscilla, I know! Now I am afraid to do anything to the new answering machine, and I used to be the one to set all of that stuff up for my family...lol I hate getting old.
William, your continued depth of wisdom amazes me! Blessings.
