You'll never believe what I just saw.

So, I was just about 5 miles from my house....

I'm coming up to a traffice light and I see 9 police cars directly after the light. (Yes, I counted, there were 9) They were all parked on both sides of the road, parallel, perpendicular, kiddy-corner.....they didn't even try to make a clear path for the other cars to get through. There was barely enough room for one car to get through nevermind one car in each direction. So, I started swearing wondering where all the people were to direct traffic.

Anywho, as I got closer to the scene, I see cops all over the place. One was ducked behind a fence, one behind a bush, one crouching under the window of a house.....all of them had there guns drawn......it was insane!!!!!! 

I realize it was 5 miles from home, but still a little too close for my liking.  I tried to find the local news to see if any of the news stations had gotten wind of it. But so far, no luck. 

Crazy!!!!!

I am not sure I understand what is crazy here. It seems to me that they were probably looking for someone or possibly a hostage situation in the house. If guns were drawn most likely they had probably found him/her.

If they are trying to capture someone that is kind of the point. LOL

Well, chris....I understand that, but 3 cars almost hit me as I was trying to get through. And yeah, it is kinda crazy because around here, we're not really used to seeing things like that. It's just weird.

Sorry I don't mean to sound unsympathetic but as a police officers wife I hear a lot worse. Hope everything turns out ok for everyone.

No, Chris, that's fine....just saying that it's weird when you're not used to that sort of thing. I do watch the news sometimes though, and I understand, it's probably nothing compared to some of the things that go on. But for me, it's kinda one of those things that you only see in the movies, ya know.

Yes it is weird if you are not use to it. I guess I just forget sometimes that not everone is use to that. I hear all sorts of stories from my husband on a daily basis so I guess it just seems like the norm to me.

WOW! That is scary! Many years ago, we had the cops raid the former apartments down the street from our house. We live on a deadend street. One cop parked in front of our house, lifted his trunk and got out his shotgun! We were in the living room watching him and wondering what was going on! It was scary. They had the street blocked so no one could leave. They were making a drug bust, in our neighborhood. We were freaked out to say the least.

The apartments are gone now and things are good now.
