Meet Barnabas, a traveling zebra. He has a great time traveling around and getting to see the world.

He is a charming little fellow - the smallest of the stuffed zebras in my collection. He is a perfect size to tag along in my pocket or purse and go with me in my jaunts.

Barnabus is a bit of a history buff. He accompanied Mama and me on a trip to the Graue Mill Museum and House in Hinsdale, IL. Although he found it a bit too windy to stray from my side out by the mill wheel, he enjoyed the restorations which have been done in the house.

He was especially intrigued with the woodwork on this lovely sofa, and the fact that the legs were very short - almost Barnabas-sized! The nice lady curator told him people are often surprised by how much lower furniture used to sit than it does now!

Isn't the woodwork gorgeous? Barnabas gets up close and personal to study it.

When we went to Crystal Lake to work, Barnabas had a chance to enjoy the autumn colors for himself.

Ride 'em, cowboy! Barnabas shops for the perfect Halloween pumpkin. A little zebra must plan these things carefully, to get just the right jack-o-lantern shape!

Ah, these are more his size! Such a great selection in so many shades! How's a zebra to choose?

Grocery shopping can be quite a challenge for a little guy like Barnabas. This is a veritable mountain of potatoes to him. It's a good thing they're sitting still, or he would have a very bumpy ride!

After a hard morning of exploring his world, Barnabas stops for a snack. Now if someone would just help him hold the door open, he could get his treat!

Personal hygiene is very important to Barnabas. He makes regular visits to Linda, his stylist at the J. C. Penney Salon in Lombard, to make sure he always looks his best!

At the Cornerstone Used Books store in Villa Park, IL, Barnabas finds plenty of books to fill his hours. He works to develop his mental capabilities as well as his physical ones! Why, you could say Barnabas is a well-rounded zebra!

Taking time to smell the flowers, Barnabas studies a silk magnolia blossom which decorates our car. Even though he lives in the Midwest, he enjoys this symbol of Southern hospitality and graciousness.

As we all know, it's a jungle out there! Barnabas takes a break in the planter at the local Arby's restaurant.
Look for more adventures from Barnabas on the road! He is quite the traveling fellow and you never know where he'll go next!
If you'd like to be a part of his adventures, print out one of the closeup images of Barnabas and take photos of your adventures with him to share. I'd love to see what he finds in your corner of the world!
