My daughter didn't weigh that much until she was almost 2.....I can't imagine that....yikes!

It's because of uncontrolled diabetes. This baby beat the records.

My third child, a son was 11 pounds 1 ounce 23 1/2 inches long. I went natural and they did the same thing they did here with a 5 pound baby.

said record was 23 lbs but baby died but then 22 pounds as biggest in the guinesses anyways.. I think his record was for country..

so Uncontrolled diabetes makes babies bigger.. Im going to have to search this.. I have heard of similar story today.. baby born 5 weeks early from overweight mom with diabetes,. that baby would have been crazy huge as well.. Her gma is here on gather.. I had no idea

Yes, uncontrolled GD can lead to much bigger babies. My middle son was born 6 weeks early weighing 6lbs 8oz, and I truly believe had I gone full term with him he would've been over 10lbs. I had to take the 4 hour sugar test with him and my levels were borderline so no specific diet was put in play. The question I have is; was this baby delivered naturally?? If so, OUCH!

Holy cow, no pun intended. My dad weighed 12.5 pounds when he was born, and his poor mom was a petite 5'3. His younger brother Marty was 13.5 pounds. All of his other brother and sister weighed less than that when they were born. And they were born at home, no C-section.
