From the youngest person in a family to the oldest, the needs of individuals vary according to ones life’s stages. Whether it’s the colic and teething of a tiny baby or the growing pains of a teenager, reflexology’s techniques help to ease the health challenges that may occur.
Reflexology for Your Baby
A baby’s feet and hands are natural candidates for play and, with some simple adaptations you can create a reflexology interlude for your little one that is both happy and health-giving. Reflexology can be introduced during many of your baby’s normal activities, and by working specific points on a baby’s hands and feet reflexology can target:
Sleeping Issues – Colic – Fever – Teething – Diarrhea
Note: always press gently, and pay attention to nonverbal communication, such as the hand or foot being pulled away from you.
Reflexology for Your Child
Be flexible and casual when working with a child. Pick up a child’s foot and work on it as he or she sits next to you on the couch. Children have short attention spans, especially those under ten, and you should not expect prolonged sessions. For a young child, it may help to allow him or her to create the setting. A reflexology session twice a week helps maintain your child’s general health.
Note: always make sure that your reflexology work is welcome. Watch for signs of discomfort, such as frowning or pulling away a hand or foot.
Reflexology for Teenagers
Teenagers experience unique physical changes and challenges. Physical and mental stresses intertwine in a teen’s life, calling for a remedy that resolves such tension. Hormonal changes, growing pains, and the stresses of peer pressure all present opportunities for the application of reflexology.
By working specific points on a teenager’s hands and feet reflexology can target:
Puberty – Acne – Stress – Depression – Menstrual Pain – Sports Performance
Texting tip:
Teenagers who use their mobile phones frequently for text messaging may develop a sore thumb as a result of overuse. Reflexology can relax the thumb and help relive pain.

Have you ever tried reflexology? yes
I found it a great way to relieve stress
Have you ever tried reflexology? No, but I would love to! I'm a huge fan of alternative ways to stay helathy.
When I rec'vd my PSP last year, my thumbs ached a lot. Reflexology helped so much! I introduced it to my sister who is an accountant for the city. Her ten key stroke speed is remarkable, but at the end of day her joints are very sore; she loves her reflexology exercises! The pain and swelling goes down w/o the use of drugs.
Have you ever tried reflexology? I have not, and would love to try it.
I used the technique on my Grand- children and my daughters with great results. It will put my Grand-daughter to sleep. That is about as relaxed as one can get. I would love to have this book so I can learn more and practice it on others. Also I would love for my husband to read it so he can practice it on me.
I live with constant pain and anything that will relax me is always welcome in my life.
I've heard of reflexology but don't know anything about it
It's sure worth a try!
With all the babies in my family and me having two children at home this book would come in super handy.
I have always wanted to know more about and be able to use it to help make things better.
Have you ever tried reflexology? Yes, some, and I love it. I've tried it on other people too.
No, I've not tried it but have considered it.
Absolutely! I live with many health challenges and I'm quite open to exploring alternative approaches.
Have you ever tried reflexology?
On a limited basis. I have tried pressing the point that is supposed to help reduce pain. I'm very interested in the points to assist with breathing.
I would love to have this book!
She can't do it much because she has bad arthritis and I always wanted to learn how to do some on my own for my kids and me. I am always on the phone asking her how to do this or that. In addition to being beneficial for health she has told me how it could help my son with his ADHD issues and just calming the kids in general. Any way to avoid hiding problems with medication and I am all in.
